I remember reading something years ago that Dr. Cain from the Mega man X series fell ill, and his brain was placed in a Cyborg until a cure was found. Somehow the cyborg was infected with the Sigma virus and drove Dr. Cain insane. The result turned Dr. Cain into Dr. Weil. Correct me if I'm wrong, but everything I found points to it.

Forgive me if I just didn't hear it, but its worth mentioning that the reason that the Neo Arcadian forces were oppressing the Reploids was because the human utopia that Neo Arcadia was supposed to be was still ravaged by the aftermath of the Elf Wars, and the Energy Crisis caused lots of social unrest, and Copy X blamed the crisis on the Reploids and began to execute them in order to harvest energy. Furthermore, Ciel was the result genetic engineering to create scientists specifically to develop better reploids. She happened to be a prodigy and created Copy X when she was 6, but when she was 9 she escaped Neo Arcadia with reploid refugees once persecution of reploids had begun. The guilt from having created the very source of their oppression, and sympathy for what she had been born to help lead her to create the resistance fight the Copy X regime.

It's kind of ironic that Willy started the whole maverick bullshit with ZERO to fuck the world up, in the end ZERO became the one that puts everything into order and saves it, zero became the one that fullfilled doctor light's dying wish.

In one timeline. The X series games split at MM5. Zero series continues from the the outcome in MM5 if you fail to shoot down the colony falling to earth. MMX6 continues from where you shoot it successfully. So yes in one time line yes.
sagetheinferno That’s not true. X6 retcons X5’s multiple endings into one weird fusion of them all where some aspects of all the endings are canon. There is no timeline split until after X8, which either leads to X6’s ending where Zero seals himself and leads to Megaman Zero or leads into Command Mission.

I like it when you guys put it all in one episode. It easier to just listen to the entire series in one sitting then wait for parts and forget some of the details

This is a pretty great basis, although it leaves out the fact that zero has amnesia, Nothing before Zero 1 is remembered (Maverick wars & X series). This story does pick up though, in ZX & ZX Advent. ZX takes place 200 years after the events of Zero 4. Technology has picked up, human & reploid civilization is starting to thrive. Although that's for another day - Where is Zero? Did he survive the crash? What exactly happened after our screen faded to black? Capcom never answered this unfortunately. We do know that both Zero and X are in the ZX series though, known as biometal - which stores the data (personality, battle data, etc.) of a reploid or human. Zero and X no longer have bodies so all of their data was put into a Biometal, but by whom? Along with the other biometal in ZX we have returning characters from the Zero series. Model Z - Zero, Model X - X, Model F - Fefnir, Model L - Leviathan, Model P - Phantom, Model H - Harpuia, Model W - Dr. Weil, and Model O - Omega. We have one more that appears in ZX advent as well, Model A - which is a tribute to Master Albert as a backup personality, not Axel from the X series. Although we have no clue where Biometal go after the events of ZX advent, I would love to know where they are in the Legends Series.

there is no alternate timeline other then battle network classic > X > zero >zx > legends yes things get a bit choppy with x6 x7 and Command mission it's just due to mutiplur reasons mostly due to more then one writers and different ideas of were the plot should go but no there isn't a split
yeah megaman legends is in the same timeline, but thousands of years into the future, when humans fled to space and sadly gone extinct, only bio androids exist in megaman legends, quite sad to be honest, the entire megaman legends 2 plot is to stop the protector of humans from recreating humans, yes he wanted to kill all bio androids, but still, u can't just let humans go extinct like that

If you think about it these games are riddled with Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep vibes, in relation to having empathy for beings that are deemed by society as "evil" and "without empathy," when in reality the humans are the apathetic ones because they care little for the lives of the reploids.

Hey, what happened to Megaman X 8? I do remember that after beating X 8 & sitting past the credits, you'll see some messages talking about copying reploids was shut down for a moment & after some time passing or years later they resumed again. We also got to travel on over to Megaman X Command Mission. Many people didn't like it do to it being the 1st RPG game & was a spinoff to the series but it Force Metal. These Force Metals acted similar to Cyber Elves enhancing powers & such. Heck, We also have to take in consider with Megaman Battle Network games. I haven't really played any of these games to the fullest but the time spent on some of these games back in the past really dealt with a lot of cyber space stuff which made me to believe that this is this the game series where cyber elves was created in. The biggest question to most of the Megaman games out there is this, how come in some of the games we was actually told a area or city name where the bosses are located at like for example Megaman X 3 Doppler Town, shoot pretty much the only town name I can think of. The rest just had a map like Megaman X 1 & 2 where you see the area & then see the flashing dots in the area when you select a boss to fight. Jump up to Megaman X 7 & 8 you get a world map that scrolls around different areas in the world to get to the boss. Go all the way back to original Megaman games, all you get is just the boss face to highlight & that's it. Even Megaman 11 still does that. Don't really know if its the same city or state they're in still. All you get is the boss face & a picture of how 1 area of the stage will look like. Dang, didn't mean to get carried away like this. I was suppose to be just commenting on some missing link parts that could've lead to Megaman Zero series but started drifting off & going on about how many of these Megaman games tends to not mention a city, same city or not. Before I go, I still get hung up on this sometimes. I'm not sure if Megaman Zero series came before Megaman Battle Network series of after. I do know that Megaman Zero series came after Megaman X series & Megaman ZX series came after Megaman Zero series. With this, I'm off. I spoken too much. I might find myself doing reviews 1 day.

CAPCOM confirms that Inti Creates did kill off Zero, so saying that he’s still alive is just false facts. Plus he came back as Model Z, confirming that he died in MMZ4. Either this is a joke or something, I always have to explain this crap many times...
One thing I cant understand is Megaman Zero series started from ending of Megaman X5 or X6????? Can someone give me answer pls???? And what about Megaman X7 and X8?? Are they continues the story from another timeline???
The X series was supposed to end after X5. X6 came early enough that they could chance the story of MMZ to avoid breaking canon. X7 and X8 on the other hand were created later and don't really fit into the canon, and if only because there is no clue what the hell happened with Axl. Officially, they are still in the same timeline, but some fans insist the canon splits into two different timelines after X5 or X6, because it would make more sense over all. The only thing "saving" it is the absence of clear dates in both the Zero games, they only relate to the Elf wars, which happened at one point after the X games, but because nobody really knows when, they can stuff more X games into this period it, not matter how many character would need to magically disappear before or during the Elf wars. Which would make at least some sense, because the Elf Wars killed 90% of all Reploids.

lordofthelowlands I'll take a crack at this. Basically during The Elf Wars took place 100 years ago before the events of MMZ1. Wiel was working with Ciel's ancestor's during the times of The Maverick wars. To make a long story short both sides had two different viewpoints on how to deal with the reploids where Wiel ultimately ended stealing The Mother elf and altering it into The Dark elf and fusing it's power with his creation Omega as it doned Zero's original body. This in result triggered The Elf Wars that went on and destroyed 90% of reploids and 60% of the human race. Seeing that X was going to need help, they awoke Zero from his sleep before placing him in a copy of his original body. Together the duo defeated Omega and Wiel was banished and modified to suffer for all eternity over the sins he committed during the Elf Wars. After the conclusion of the Elf Wars Zero went back into hypersleep despite X's pleas and would not be awoken until MMZ1. X continued to defend the humans with the help of his elite guard for the next 100 years, but as the time continued on and the countless battles beginning to take it's toll, X retired from his role as leader of Neo Arcadia. With no other possible solutions of sealing The Mother Elf due to it's intense power, X ultimately decided to use his body as a means to seal the dark elf, while X himself became a cyber elf. Due to his disappearance Ciel, who was alive at this time created a Copy of X in order to fulfil the role as leader of Neo Arcadia. Hope that helps. Sorry for the long story.

Shane C The ending to X6 doesn't happen right after the events of X6. It takes place after what we can assume would have been X9 (when we find out what happened to Axl). Zero seals himself, is awoken for the Elf Wars, seals himself again, and then the Zero series happens. The Megaman X Timeline is really confusing and I am just skimming over the details really.
actually he was wrong in the beginning zero sleeping in x6 and zero sleeping at the beginning of megaman zero aren't connect you see during the end of Maverick wars zero wanted to end the war right then and there he made a deal with a mad man dr Weil but because he was kind of evil amd stuff zero was afraid of just letting him upgrade him so zero makes a copy body and puts his original "dna" and mind in the copy body zeros og body goes to weil to get upgraded and trues into omga
Shane C according to what i know of and what inafune said on that: when the team was getting ready for the new x series they had a internal run on different design's for a new gen x,at this point everybody knows inafunes original design wasn't x but zero,capcom directives decided in a agreement with the man that the blue guy should stay and the zero remained as a secondary until a chance to guve inafune's rendition to his character came.. ff to rockman x6,it was supposed to be the last in the x franchise(seiing the decline in sells after 5 and 6 capcom originally said fuck it,its all yours inafune),that's why the ending for zero was that clear,to make the connection directly to rockman zero the mess up happened when the capcom site got petitions after petitionsand request for more,as always,money beats everything,they decided to make the jump to 3d and release a few more(inafune at this point was already collaborating with inticreates for the zero games) lomg story short:x6 zero ending is in fact directly connected to the rockman zero series,but due to wobbly wibbly greedy suits guys and fans asking for more got confusing and left it as a mess "go play 7 and 8 and then for the real ending play 6"....noice
Shane C and it isn't the first time it happens though(that the chronology of a franchise get confusing due to previous deals) for example,another capcom franchise,resident evil when shinji mikami was getting ready for the nex gen consoles he considered the dramcast(damn what a great console)to be the most powerfull one at the moment so he chose it to be the console to launch the next title in the RE series "RE3 CODE VERONICA" and for the playstation,since he had a contract for 3 exclusive games for it,he came with the spin off game RE NEMESIS ... now the mess comes when some dude comes forward and mentions in his contract that mikami agreeded to launch the main game titles exclusively for the plasytation,since the work was already done and launch dates couldn't be delayed,they just changed the names,turning the spin off a sequel and the true sequel a spin off(wich sucks considering it leaves so many conections to RE4 and stuff for the sake of a contract...damn)

No, it's apparently set thousands of years after the ZX series - which was never completed as ZX: Advent ends on something of a cliff hanger.

yeah megaman legends is in the same timeline, but thousands of years into the future, when humans fled to space and sadly gone extinct, only bio androids exist in megaman legends, quite sad to be honest, the entire megaman legends 2 plot is to stop the protector of humans from recreating humans, yes he wanted to kill all bio androids, but still, u can't just let humans go extinct like that

Hey, what happened to Megaman X 8? I do remember that after beating X 8 & sitting past the credits, you'll see some messages talking about copying reploids was shut down for a moment & after some time passing or years later they resumed again. We also got to travel on over to Megaman X Command Mission. Many people didn't like it do to it being the 1st RPG game & was a spinoff to the series but it Force Metal. These Force Metals acted similar to Cyber Elves enhancing powers & such. Heck, We also have to take in consider with Megaman Battle Network games. I haven't really played any of these games to the fullest but the time spent on some of these games back in the past really dealt with a lot of cyber space stuff which made me to believe that this is this the game series where cyber elves was created in. The biggest question to most of the Megaman games out there is this, how come in some of the games we was actually told a area or city name where the bosses are located at like for example Megaman X 3 Doppler Town, shoot pretty much the only town name I can think of. The rest just had a map like Megaman X 1 & 2 where you see the area & then see the flashing dots in the area when you select a boss to fight. Jump up to Megaman X 7 & 8 you get a world map that scrolls around different areas in the world to get to the boss. Go all the way back to original Megaman games, all you get is just the boss face to highlight & that's it. Even Megaman 11 still does that. Don't really know if its the same city or state they're in still. All you get is the boss face & a picture of how 1 area of the stage will look like. Dang, didn't mean to get carried away like this. I was suppose to be just commenting on some missing link parts that could've lead to Megaman Zero series but started drifting off & going on about how many of these Megaman games tends to not mention a city, same city or not. Before I go, I still get hung up on this sometimes. I'm not sure if Megaman Zero series came before Megaman Battle Network series of after. I do know that Megaman Zero series came after Megaman X series & Megaman ZX series came after Megaman Zero series. With this, I'm off. I spoken too much. I might find myself doing reviews 1 day.

CAPCOM confirms that Inti Creates did kill off Zero, so saying that he’s still alive is just false facts. Plus he came back as Model Z, confirming that he died in MMZ4. Either this is a joke or something, I always have to explain this crap many times...

One thing I cant understand is Megaman Zero series started from ending of Megaman X5 or X6????? Can someone give me answer pls???? And what about Megaman X7 and X8?? Are they continues the story from another timeline???
The X series was supposed to end after X5. X6 came early enough that they could chance the story of MMZ to avoid breaking canon. X7 and X8 on the other hand were created later and don't really fit into the canon, and if only because there is no clue what the hell happened with Axl. Officially, they are still in the same timeline, but some fans insist the canon splits into two different timelines after X5 or X6, because it would make more sense over all. The only thing "saving" it is the absence of clear dates in both the Zero games, they only relate to the Elf wars, which happened at one point after the X games, but because nobody really knows when, they can stuff more X games into this period it, not matter how many character would need to magically disappear before or during the Elf wars. Which would make at least some sense, because the Elf Wars killed 90% of all Reploids.

***** how much time exactly is supposed to have passed between the end of the elf wars and zero 1? if x sealed the dark elf with his body right after the wars then how come ciel who is only supposed to be in her teens was the one who built copy x in response to x's disappearence? who was standing in for x until then? never understood this as your info seems to come from the manual and i always had this problem with it
lordofthelowlands I'll take a crack at this.
Basically during The Elf Wars took place 100 years ago before the events of MMZ1. Wiel was working with Ciel's ancestor's during the times of The Maverick wars.
To make a long story short both sides had two different viewpoints on how to deal with the reploids where Wiel ultimately ended stealing The Mother elf and altering it into The Dark elf and fusing it's power with his creation Omega as it doned Zero's original body. This in result triggered The Elf Wars that went on and destroyed 90% of reploids and 60% of the human race.
Seeing that X was going to need help, they awoke Zero from his sleep before placing him in a copy of his original body. Together the duo defeated Omega and Wiel was banished and modified to suffer for all eternity over the sins he committed during the Elf Wars.
After the conclusion of the Elf Wars Zero went back into hypersleep despite X's pleas and would not be awoken until MMZ1. X continued to defend the humans with the help of his elite guard for the next 100 years, but as the time continued on and the countless battles beginning to take it's toll, X retired from his role as leader of Neo Arcadia. With no other possible solutions of sealing The Mother Elf due to it's intense power, X ultimately decided to use his body as a means to seal the dark elf, while X himself became a cyber elf. Due to his disappearance Ciel, who was alive at this time created a Copy of X in order to fulfil the role as leader of Neo Arcadia.

Shane C Thats a good question... I think that Zero's ending in X6 happens at a later point in the series, personally.
Shane C The ending to X6 doesn't happen right after the events of X6. It takes place after what we can assume would have been X9 (when we find out what happened to Axl). Zero seals himself, is awoken for the Elf Wars, seals himself again, and then the Zero series happens. The Megaman X Timeline is really confusing and I am just skimming over the details really.

when the team was getting ready for the new x series they had a internal run on different design's for a new gen x,at this point everybody knows inafunes original design wasn't x but zero,capcom directives decided in a agreement with the man that the blue guy should stay and the zero remained as a secondary until a chance to guve inafune's rendition to his character came..
ff to rockman x6,it was supposed to be the last in the x franchise(seiing the decline in sells after 5 and 6 capcom originally said fuck it,its all yours inafune),that's why the ending for zero was that clear,to make the connection directly to rockman zero
the mess up happened when the capcom site got petitions after petitionsand request for more,as always,money beats everything,they decided to make the jump to 3d and release a few more(inafune at this point was already collaborating with inticreates for the zero games)
lomg story short:x6 zero ending is in fact directly connected to the rockman zero series,but due to wobbly wibbly greedy suits guys and fans asking for more got confusing and left it as a mess

now the mess comes when some dude comes forward and mentions in his contract that mikami agreeded to launch the main game titles exclusively for the plasytation,since the work was already done and launch dates couldn't be delayed,they just changed the names,turning the spin off a sequel and the true sequel a spin off(wich sucks considering it leaves so many conections to RE4 and stuff for the sake of a contract...damn)
