      Am I still the only one who realizes that the two Biggest Threat QBs in their division were both injured in games against the Ravens?
      What they did to the Steelers was worse: they _didn't_ injure any of their QBs.

    As soon as they didn't resign Joe Flacco... They kissed their chance at a Superbowl good bye. He wasn't great but he was a lot more aggressive than Watson. And considering Nick Chubb may miss a lot more games due to his massive injury makes a situation even more dire.
    The only way I can see this turn around is if Dont'a Foreman can breakout like he did with Panthers. But on the Bears last season it seems like either he was recovering from an injury or the Bears didn't wanna start him. Can't really say why.
    My theory is it's a combination of Luke Getsy being an Idiot and a combination of Chicago Bears purposely tanking to get picks.
    So I see no SB in the Browns Future unless Chubb come back even 80 percent. Which it's not looking good right now.

    • @UsefulPreconceivedNotions
      @UsefulPreconceivedNotions 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They could have had Fields for a mid-round pick _next_ year. I'll argue about how good Fields is if anyone takes the bait, but it's not the point. the point is Fields _can threaten_ to take Watson's job! & now that $ isn't an incentive _that _*_alone_* makes the mid-round pick worth it.
      The problem here is that ownership Was Determined That the amount of $ they spent means Watson Should Start. "So why bring in any other QB who can potentially compete to start?" As my name here implies, having such Blinding Paradigms blinds people to reality. Like that he's old, out of shape & recovering from surgery *on his **_throwing shoulder!!!_*

    • @maskedman5657
      @maskedman5657 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@UsefulPreconceivedNotions Yeah honestly at this point I thought they would have negotiated to try to get DtR or extend Flacco for Longer. They realistically should have kept Jacobe Brisette and he would have been dirt Cheap. They had so much QB rotation they should have at least secured their backup.
      In reality Justin Fields would have been amazing for the Browns because although he is not the best pocket passer he doesn't need to be. Kevin Stefanski is a great at designing run Games and if he just made running schemes for Fields and maybe Foreman then this could have easily been the best running game in the league

      @maskedman5657 they have DTR, they didn't trade flacco ffs

    • @UsefulPreconceivedNotions
      @UsefulPreconceivedNotions 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@maskedman5657 According to wiki, DTR isn't desired by *any* NFL teams right now. I don't expect any Written Words to end his career by posting why. Watson has had to learn self-discipline & doesn't lack motivation. But I can't see how having a Real Threat to take away his starting job would fail to make him shift into a higher gear.
      As for Fields, I won't take the time to prove that *_ALL_* the things said about him are false. But I will take the time to prove *one* just to point something out. I realize most NFL fans don't have the time to find good analysis channels let alone then go through the videos.
      But we allow social media to shape how we view the Entire World WAY too much. So this is my tiny counter to some of that. "Fields can't read defenses." This was proven false _with stats_ by no one less than Brett Kollmann th-cam.com/video/QuhUbISnr8s/w-d-xo.html.
      The other thing I'll link also helps prove that meme wrong. It's Fields' college highlights spliced with those of Caleb Williams th-cam.com/video/5JO1PsupF_U/w-d-xo.html.;
      Williams isn't being touted as being generational because of his stats. If he was, then Jayden Daniels would be gettin' that. Instead, like Justin Herbert, people claim to be able to See His Greatness _despite_ not having the best stats or W/L record.
      Then how come Fields is better than him *at everything?* Count e'm if you need to, Williams misses receivers by miles even when not pressured. But even without that, Fields throws low-flying missiles that don't give defenders chances to adjust to & make plays on. Then they land right in the hands of his receivers in stride. He has near-Aaron Rodgers level accuracy but gets the ball there quicker as well, which requires a stronger arm.
      & also requires the ability to Read Defenses. How did everyone _miss_ that? By depending on social media memes to tell us what is & isn't reality.

    I mentioned this in a video on another channel, but I have a hunch the Browns are due for a decline, which is not the fault of the players or coaches. It's the obvious elephant in the room: Watson's contract and the amount of cap space it occupies. That is nearly one quarter of the allocated cap space for one guy who has not really lived up to expectations. It's pretty insane that compared to Watson, who has a $63M cap hit for another 2-3 years, guys like Cooper and Garrett have cap hits ranging in the $20M range, although the latter's is justified.
    As for the predicted decline, it's mainly from retaining draftees like Jedrick Wills and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, who are due for big paydays next season. Amari Cooper is also looking to cash in elsewhere if the Browns can't match his demands. The Browns have invested in their offensive line and defense, but if any of their core pieces go down with injury, the Browns need to get the best value for whoever they bring in, cause they have very little cap room to spare. Plus, with this current arms race going on in the AFC North, one team inevitably has to take the short straw, and as much as I want it to be the Steelers (just to shut up the Yinzers), knowing the penchant for gross mismanagement from their front office, I fear it will be the Browns taking a step back.

    I’m a diehard Browns fan since 1985. Hot take, the Browns defense will be exposed this season as overrated. They lucked out sooooo much last year. They beat the Bengals wk 1 last year with a hobbled Burrow and bad weather. Beat the Colts with help from officials. Beat the Niners minus their LT Williams and McCaffrey, and needed a missed 40 yd FG. Beat the Cards minus Murray. The Texans minus Stroud. There are some excellent, well informed points in that video. Unfortunately, the clickbaity title one is the exception. First of all, last season showed, that the Browns can have success, irregardless of who plays QB. They beat the 49ers with PJ Walker, who threw for 192 yds with 0 TDs and 2 INTs! What else is there to say... The "Watson needs to step up" narrativ is just tiresome.
    Sure, for all that money he gets you would appreciate some more games like against the Ravens (and a lot less injuries). But trying to compare his 2022 season with 2023 and not seeing much of a difference is wild:
    He was good in the opener against the Bengals considering the conditions! Please rewatch and remind yourself of how awful Joe Burrow was in that game and he got all the excuses.
    Game 2 against the Steelers was rough. But almost everyone sucked in that one.
    The Titans game was a good one from Watson. It is the one nobody talks about and I don't know why.
    I think everyone agrees that the Colts game doesn't count. The Cardinals were absolutety destroyed by the defense and then there's the Ravens game.
    So yeah, the Steelers game sucked. Brett Kollmann recently had a video about Peyton Manning and how every QB sucks now and then. The rest of his 2023 season was solid to good. So for me the question is not can he step up but can he stay healthy.
    Other than that, really great video! A lot deeper than the copycat takes from your average ESPN/NFL Network etc talking heads season previews. Could have mentioned Ken Dorsey though. He will create a tailored offense for Watson, the first time in Watson's career that is. This could lead the offense to another level. I don't say Watson can't improve, just that he does not have to for the Browns to be successfull ;)

      Unfortunately the box score don't lie, he has only completed 59% of his passes over the last 2 years ranking him 30th in the nfl. He ranks 53rd in pff grade among qualified passers over the last two years and 38th in qbr. These are all efficiency stats. And only track the games he plays in. And it shows us that he has been one of the worst and most inaccurate passes in the nfl since coming to cleveland. The qb we traded away has been way better in every single traditional passing stat including these. Makes you wonder why we traded 3 years of first round picks and 6 total for a worse qb. These are just facts. Can't be 'hating' if it's 100% true

    Why would you be happy about famous jamous being signed? He wasn't that good last year and worse of all he was extremely toxic. You already have a highly contentious situation with Watson starting. If they lose a few in a row,it's likely to snowball. I would only sign him if he was meant to be the starter, I don't want him scheming with other disgruntled. Maybe his behavior was exclusive to his time in Nola. I would be worried about his behavior though, he wasn't close to professional last year.
    Even backups have an important role. Help the starter, maybe you seen something they didn't. I like Derek carr and what he tried to do to him is messed up. Plus defying a coach even if it is to get a player a td is never good.

      Ken Dorsey: 6.0
      Joe Brady: 5.4

      Joe Brady: 45.6%
      Rush success rate:

      7 touchdowns
      Diggs’ per game average with Joe Brady at OC:
      4.9 catches
      43.1 receiving yards
      1 touchdown
      - In 2022 the Bills were:
      6361 total yards (4th in the NFL)
      6.1 yards per play (2nd in the NFL)
      4192 passing yards (8th in the NFL)
      6.8 yards per attempt (6th in the NFL)
      2232 rushing yards (9th in the NFL)
      5.2 yards per attempt (tied-2nd in the NFL)
      - As of Week 10 in 2023 they were:
      1st in success rate
      3rd in EPA per play
      4th in QB rating
      3rd in yards per play
      3rd in TDs
      2nd in 3rd down conversion %
