I experimented years ago as a young fella with sandbags for my material to char that’s how I learned to use jute netting for this. Yep I use charred punk wood often, it’s one of the reasons I preach about carrying a tin with your flint and steel kit in to be able to carry on with the next fire mentality and use your current fire to char natural materials around you such as punk wood for the next fires etc… polypore fungi work well too. I may not have covered it on my videos though! Something ill hopefully get around to. Yeah I know what you mean about getting older mate 😖😖😂😂….. take care brother very best wishes 👍🏻👍🏻😎
