    You two are always worth a watch, always enjoyable even when there's not much action. Coffee isn't cool enough to drink yet and your finished. I said before I wished they were 70 minutes long this one would be even better at 55 minutes. Thanks.

      Thanks again mate. One day I might start putting some longer videos together. The filming part of it is the easy bit.

    These videos always have me holding my breath, whenever you two start whispering, it's as if I don't want to be the one who spooks the game and spoils the shot!
    Thanks again Gentlemen, I do enjoy this stuff!

      Your continuing support is very much appreciated Reg. Hunting can go from rags to riches very quickly but often you are left dangling. You just have to keep putting yourself out there and what's the worse scenario. You end up spending the day in a top location with great company. Thanks again for watching mate

      Glad you enjoyed this one Jim. As you know hunting can often be a bit slow. Sometimes I think maybe there isn't content that is worth putting together but then again I think we need to show it as it is. It isn't always big bucks on the ground.

    Hey fellas what a spot. Always good for a laugh guys. Always the same old story you win some you lose some. I’d love to take you guys to a property I know of 2000 acres with Red and fallow that frequent constantly. Along with many other ferals.

      Cheers Michael. Hunting can be hit and miss in more ways than one but either way time spent in the bush is always going to be enjoyable for us. Might have to come and film one of your hunts for you. Stay in touch and thanks for watching mate.

    Great vid guys!! How do you go with the swaro binos? I have a pair of leica and thinking of changing to swaro as better eye relief for me anyway.

    • @BoltActionProductions
      @BoltActionProductions  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate. Swaro Bino's? Well like most top end glass as in your Leica's the optics are very similar and exceptional. It really comes down to a few things to decide between them. Ergonomics or how they feel to hold and use. Warranty and customer service. Swarovski has always been exceptional in this area in my experience. Eye Relief better in the Swaro's? I am not sure about that one. You would have to compare first hand. Keep me posted on your choice.

    G’day Steve, how does the SST perform on reds and fallows in 308? Been developing a load for my 308 and the 165 SST shoots sublime out of my rifle but I’ve heard mixed things about their terminal performance.

    • @BoltActionProductions
      @BoltActionProductions  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      How are you mate? I started off using that exact same combination in my old Sako L579 .308. SST's often get a bad rap but running the right combination and knowing how to use them correctly is the key. In short they tend to be pretty explosive when the velocities are high almost working like a varminting projectile. When the velocity starts to drop off they penetrate and expand well. For general use in the .308 I find the 150's are a better balance of speed and weight. Shot placement at distance is the key. For deer at shorter distances I tend to shoot them forward of the shoulder through the neck. Usually this ends in instant death or at worst a massive blood trail. When the distances start to push 200yds plus then conventional shots in the chest will not always end with immediate kills but they will get the job done no worse than any other projectile. I personally think the SST are a good general use projectile and one of the main reasons I have used them for years.

    • @BrandonLee_1171
      @BrandonLee_1171 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers for that, I’ll run some 150s and see how they go. At least with the 165s giving me 1” groups at 200m then neck shots at closer range won’t be an issue and they sound especially well suited for the smaller bodied tahr and chamois at longer ranges.

    Love ya vids fellas. Question, may have been answered before. What shooting sticks are you using, and where did you get them? I want to lose the bipod ay.

    • @BoltActionProductions
      @BoltActionProductions  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Andrew. That question does get asked quite often. The shooting sticks we use are no longer available. They were made by Stoney Point and are called "Steady Stix". I know Primos make them as well but they aren't as good as the original steady stix IMO. They work ok but just a little bit looser in the leg connections.

      If you do decide to buy the 15's look at the Outdoorsmans tripod mount. I have no affiliation but it is a really good product and just about essential when using the 15's. You will want the taller version for the 15's. You also need to buy the stud to suit but this can be fitted very easily to the SLC's. outdoorsmans.com/products/outdoorsmans-binocular-adapter
