Shah Rukh Khan is incredibly 'down-to-earth' when he says he is doing double-role a bit too early in his career. I always thought his performance in this film has been amazing. I particularly liked the portion where Bablu goes into Mannu's group and tricks those people to believe that he is actually Mannu. Here Bablu tried to imitate the mannerisms and speaking styles of Mannu but everything is not perfect. I thought Shah Rukh Khan, as an actor, established this imperfection incredibly well.
These retro footages are an example of the simplicity of then actors and actresses. There used to be an organic bonding within the team irrespective of team's portfolio and the status...things have changed drastically now and made the actors/actresses to be conscious about their class, status & to be more materialistic just to be within the frame. SRK used to be an adorable actor during those era, the minute he got connected to KJO he turned into more egoistic person which subtly the groupism was created within the fraternity and the radiation of this groupism dicease killed all the good talents and in that survived only few. Our love for SRK was from the 1st episode of Fauji....it was love at first sight, we watched him growing & being successful....but later when I saw his ego and being inferior towards other newcomers I lost respect for him. He being an outsider achieved so much success, wealth & fame which gave hopes to all the new talents, sadly no one were given opportunity...the dark truth remains suspense till date.

I watched old videos, new ones and I noticed the same thing which you described. He was quite humble and simple in start (still confident though) with a tinge of philosophy in his mindset which reflected in his earlier interviews and if you see his latest interviews, you can clearly notice his love for wealth, awards and materialistic inclinations.

And that's the truth..also people are more realistic now and audience have matured ..

He is been tagged as arrogant by people only because they couldnt understand the sarcasm in what he said or the jokes he made and time and again his words are misinterpreted by the media to create controversies but that doesnt mean that he has become egoistic or self centered my friend has worked in a few ad projects in which srk featured and he says he is the most humble person you will ever come across in bollywood. He respects everyone from the lowest level to the highest on set so instead of jumping the gun you might wanna dig up some more info to find out what kind of a person he actually is.
