I think that people who say John doesn't write teenagers realistically are wrong, too. They've forgotten what it's like to be a teenager. Teens are smarter than the rest of the world gives them credit for (I'm saying this as a 30 year old). I've read John's first four books. I gave Katherines 3 stars, Paper Towns 4 stars, and Alaska and Stars both 5 stars.
my favorite of the three we reread for throwback was for sure the fault in our stars. I think if I had reread all of them, my prediction would be that the anthropocene reviewed would come out on top, or maaaybe turtles? but I do look forward to eventually rereading more of them!
I also loved the math appendix in abundance of katherines and really appreicated how it was written for a young adult audience without talking down to them. excellent math writing
I adore John Green's books! The first I read was Looking for Alaska by recommendation from a friend in highschool. Now I really want to reread his books as a 25 year old 😂
i still vividly remember reading looking for alaska in high school and crying when i was reading it in class

This was such a great breakdown! And it makes me want to read more of his books :)
I've only read the fault in our starts. But I am considerimg now after your video to read more of his books!

Oooh, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts!
I wish you had been able to be at our throwback liveshow!! thats okay though lol
Did Danielle and Lizzie know ☠️
I mentioned to Lizzie on a zoom that I'd already reread the books they chose because of this video but they didn't know beforehand
I decided John Green was for past me and I should not reread them and wreck their positive thoughts in my brain
That’s fair!
Is it “she’s got cancer real bad” or “she’s got cancer, real bad.”
The first lol
