Instead of taking whole height for k2 calculation, should we divide it in horizontal strips and then find k2 for different heights. If we go like this then what will be effect on tributary area and area averaging factor (ka) - should we take tributary area for that particular horizontal stip only. Overall: if I divide height in different horizontal strips then value of k2 & ka will varry at different height. Am I correct? Please clarify.

Dear sir, For calculating Ka area averaging factor, we have to take column c/c x storey height. But in your calculation you have taken entire height of building for calculating tributary area. Is it ok as per IS875 part 3-2015. kindly clarify. V.M.RAJAN
