If listeria can keep transferring from macrophage to macrophage, then how does it die? Before coming across this video I was under the impression that listeria transfers cell to cell via the mechanism shown here, and it's only vulnerable when in the extracellular fluid where neutrophils/macros can get them. You would think this bacteria would be a lot more lethal if it can't be phagocytized...
