We don't know what is that wrinkled red chilli because retailer/whole seller/grocer who sells those chilles always tell you that they have right kind of chillies. In fact, we got to know about Kashmiri Chilli (Smooth one that we have demonstrated in this video)-when we first visited Kashmir Valley and later started buying it from online Kashmiri Stores. Also dug a little and asked about this chillies from local people , known Kashmiri People. India is largest producer of red chillies/chillies- probably that wrinkled chillies are from nearby area having SHU (very less) similar to Kashmiri chillies or same chilli seeds grown in other areas of north India. Thanks for sharing the details Byadagi chilli is heavily wrinkled chillies having hotness (SHU around 50000 to 100000) not low like Kashmiri Chillies. We used it our everyday life for our hot chilli powder blend ( normally we combine byadagi + teja + Bird's eye + any local small sized chilli) to have colour and hotness together. Normally grocers sell very less wrinkled chilli for Kashmiri Chillies. That is why, we have assumed same seeds cultivated in the different location of North India. Hi. I use to have a flat mate who cooked me a variety of North Indian food. Her ingredients usually consist of Turmeric and Chilli powder. Some such as dal makhani I tried recreating at home, however I noticed that her flavour had a major difference compared to the basic chilli powder I use. Good brands sell it on Rs 55 to 60 / 100 gm i.e Rs 550 to 600 per kg. As per our personal experience and observation on market price for manufacturers esp commodity products: Bulk and Regular purchasers (manufacturers) get product in very different prices , what we get as retail customer Price of normal red chilly whole is Rs 120 to Rs 150/ for 1 kg. You won't be able to get below than that price if you are in city. Whereas whole seller price starts for Rs 15 -25/- for 1 kilo .( condition they wont give you less than a ton). Dried lavender flowers are around 350/- for 30 gms ( price of one kg will be around Rs 11600 ) whereas price of one kg is around 4500/-. And this list goes on.. Hope it help you. Stay Safe! If these mild chilli peppers aren't available could one use sweet paprika with a small amount of cayenne pepper to give heat? Are you sure deggi mirch is paprika? Most online forums seem to consider kashmiri mirch as paprika.
There are 2 things
Deggi Mirch as a brand = ground chilli that is combination of various chillies.
Degi Mirch is a variety of chilli =paprika (sweet varieties) one of 4 varieties of the chilli cultivated in India-as per the research paper on chillies by Dr Indu Mehta

Degi Mirich is called paprika in English, I must disagree based on the fact I can eat spoon full of paprika just like that but I can’t do same with Degi.
There are two things:
1) Deggi Mirch=Chilli Powder, combination of various low to medium heat chillies as available in the market in powder form.
2) Degi Mirch = Paprika ( Variety of chilli)

U r wrong, degi mirch is a mixture of Kashmiri Lal mirch n red capsicum or paprika n shud be less hot than Kashmiri lal
