Nice indeed. Im very new to these hit and although I was around them when my grandpa owned Aran it for shows. Yes I should f payed more attention so now it my turn. I have 5 hp olds/ seager type a. The piston is froze up. I did have very little movement when I try to turn the wheels say maybe A 1/8 inch each way. I’ve been spraying blaster in areas I can see and down the oiler above. So how do I get leverage on this to make it move if it will or how will I ever get the piston out. I assume the piston comes out the rear of machine.
Depending how bad the rust is PB may break it loose over course of several days or weeks. A mix of ATF and diesel works to. I would keep rocking the flywheels everyday. May be able to use a bar for extra leverage but cracking somthing or causing bearing damage may happen. Use caution. Last resort would be remove the head if removable and use block of wood and a hammer. If all else fails heat it with an acetylene torch. . Hopefully it will break loose after a few days of soaking. Be careful not to break the rings when it does come loose. There is another channel on here that saves alot of old engines sorry i dont know his name but im sure he could help you more than i can. I will try to find his channel again. Hope this helps.
I like a little extra oil in the cylinder.. With no load i like to see a drip every 15 to 20 seconds. A drip every 30 seconds should be fine at low rpm no load. Under load i think it is every 5 to 10 seconds. Make sure to check that the piston is not starving for oil now and then.
U should always pre oil 😊😊 the engine be 4 U start it and turn the grease cups down and make sure the oiler is full of oil and set it when just running and not working it should be set at 1O drops of oil a minute and fill the water hopper W water 💦 / and fill W gas in the gas tank 😊😊 OMG 2 9 2O24
