- Amidst the clamour over the rising intolerance in the country, famous Pakistani singer Adnan Sami, who requested to stay in India on humanitarian grounds earlier this year, says that he wouldn't have sought Indian citizenship if there was such an issue.

Adnan is now Indian, no use asking him about his past Pakistani nationality. It is in bad taste to force him to prove his loyalty for the nation of and on. He has opted for India's nationality and requested to have it on his own free will proves enough about his love for India. He is now as good Indian as any other Indian. Indians now should enjoy his musical talent and appreciate it.😊

He was not only smart to became a Lawyer then make a mistake of marring Zeba and then became vice to Divorcing her and even smarter when he applied for the Indian citizen. I only pity about the Kid which they had and had to go through all the custody issue. Zeba was married 5 times and one of them she did not acknowledge and Javed had to present the Nikahanama then she accepted it. Looks like she has some serious issues. So, he was smart in Divorcing her and made a right choice just as in he did to get an Indian Citizen Ship. I am not aware of any other famous Indian person applying for Pakistani Citizenship after 1960's.
to your comment about "what is the value of citizenship" I would say it sound like the saying "Angoor Khatte hai". As far as Sania is concerned it was her choice of marrying whoever she wants and she did that. Those are two different things. If she accepts a Pakistani Citizenship then your comment would be correct. Otherwise it is just comparing apples and oranges.

It makes me proud to be an Indian because it is the most compassionate country in the world. Whenever someone had nowhere else to turn India was the only country to extend a hand to those people. But the most wonderful thing is those foreigner come to India settle in India gain India citizenship, they excel and prosper here and are given equal opportunities in India. Today an Irani is part of BJP govt and is minister of Education. When prophet Mohammed son's family life was in danger a Hindu King Raja Dahir promised him shelter. When Zoroastrians of Iran were on the run they were given shelter in India. We have Afghan origin people in India. India is proud of Abdul Kalam, Amir Khan and others.The day we stop allowing artists from any part of the world to perform in India, this will be India's loss. We need to allow the worlds great to come and display their work in India. Pakistanis are generally good politically so is Adnan, I may be wrong as I dont know him personally. Awaaz mein vaZaan hai.
