I am finding that my tastes have changed so much that there is a lot of music that I enjoy now. Almost all genre’s are in my wheelhouse now. Still gravitate toward, rock, blues, jazz and collectible Vinyl. Then any record for just my listening pleasure.
Now in my late 50s I’ve noticed a big change in my taste in music. I mainly listen to Jazz R&B Blues Soul Funk Classical Folk and Latin and some occasional 50s Exotica. It seems the older I get the less I listen to any type of music that possesses an aggressive angry vibe. However I don’t steer away from them if I can acquire them at an affordable price. Are you like me Greg in that I also collect records for others ie friends & family who visit and often ask, “Do you have such a such artist?” Quite a few records are in my collection for that reason only.
@@TheVinylRecordMission I buy just for me. I have a friend who lives through my collection. He Doesn’t collect but enjoys finding out what I have purchased.
Hi Steve, I'm the proud owner of that excellent record. When people talk about jazz recordings, Woody Herman doesn't come up as a name that inspires excitement. Joe's drumming is funky throughout.
It pays to be in the know. I’m having Tiffany LaBarbera and her husband Eric over to my house this afternoon. Joe is currently touring in Europe. We’re going to drink some wine and listen to records.
Hi brother Steve, great video Awesome content. Dude I dig that LP, funky soul. Sounds like CTI wax. It made a great trip to your hands. Great story Look forward to the next cool record story. Blessings brother Steve
@@TheVinylRecordMission Yea man, I have been diggin' CTI records. Love that 70's Funk Soul sound. Have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend. Don't forget to get a pie from Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana
Very cool Steve! I recently had a similar type of event happen where I saw on the back of the record I bought that one of my favorite artists was on half of the tracks. I'd seen a documentary somewhere in the last 2 years on YT about Betty Davis. I never had heard of her before and the live music they were showing on the documentary was really a cool and funky kind of music. The label Light in the Attic started putting out some archival series reissues of her albums and I bought them as they got released. I got her debut, self-titled album first. As I was listening to it and looking at the cover with my magnifier trying to add any additional info to my discogs entry, I saw that Neal Schon, from Santana and then one of my favorite bands Journey, was credited with playing on four tracks. I actually think he may have played on six of the eight tracks listening to the album. But I had never heard of this work and it was in 1973 which was right as Neal and Gregg Rolie had left Santana and formed Journey. Had I not bought something new and tried it out with that Betty Davis album, I would have never known this probably. It's pretty cool to get a surprise like that. I'm still looking to find Jimmy Page on something I didn't know he was on haha! Brian in Fort Worth 🎶
What a great discovery, Brian! Two great discoveries actually, Betty Davis and then Neal Schon! I never knew. It’s fun to see how diverse great musicians can be. I mean the Journey sound is so different from both Santana and Betty Davis. Great job picking up those Light In The Attic Betty Davis series releases! 👍🏽👍🏽💪🏽💪🏽 Steve
@@TheVinylRecordMission Exactly Steve! The diversity in music and musicians can be really fascinating at times. I'm still surprised I had never heard any of Betty Davis' music through the years. Those late 1960s through the early 1970s are some of the times I enjoy most musically. I was born in 1967 but definitely feel like musically speaking I should have been at least 10 years older haha 🙂
Hey Steve , I like music from all styles love to keep a open mind about it.. it would be boring if we all like the same music. . man that record is 52 years old wow and sealed.. Don't pay any minnd to people who think you have goofy taste? kepp up with great videos you guys make.
@@carjo512Thanks Carjo. You are so right. I can’t just eat vanilla ice with all those other great flavors out there! 😂 I love me some variety. My collection spans many genres. Adding to my wantlist now. The funky needledrop(s) sold me. Joe LaBabera for the win 🥁

Sealed records if warped when open generally are not hard to fix since they are bodily warped not
Edge warped
