    Placentia huh? But the name is so beautiful. It just rolls off the tongue with a lyrical quality. Maybe next year they'll release an Umbilicus bass.

    Forgot to mention that the Placentia gets extra (awful) credit for having the dumbest and most questionable name for an instrument. I went with your rec. on a Squier Paranormal, which was spot on, I got a killer deal on one and love it. Going to have to try the Harley Benton next.

    I bought an HB PBass once and without question it was the worst build quality of any bass I have ever seen. The bridge was trash, unusable in fact. The saddles could not be adjusted, there was no way to intonate or adjust the string height, which was an inch above the fretboard. When I took off the pickguard, several of the screws were so close to the edge of the cavity they splintered into the cavity. Terrible quality, unplayable out of the box. Won't try for another one.

    100% agree that the HB JP-45OP is the best bass of 2022. I actually sold just yesterday the Aria Pro II Detroit of which this JP is a near 1-1 copy. The HB is just instantly and noticeably a nicer feeling instrument. Like the best I've ever played?! I think so. No way I'm modding mine. If it ain't broke, then don't break it. But thanks for introducing me to my new #1 instrument all the same, Mr. Lobster.

    Nice to see that one of my two HB basses took the top spot. Mine has the tobacco burst finish, and it's a surprisingly high quality finish, and looks and feels great. I agree it's a great bass all around. My one complaint is the neck pickup placement for slap. Some technique adjustment is necessary for me when plucking the D string, in particular. I definitely plan to hold onto it, and may upgrade components at some point. You must get asked all the time to sell the one you upgraded. That's a super sweet mod.

    I personally loved the Dart II, mine was super light which is a big plus for me (it’s lighter than some of my guitars) and I really liked the tone. I don’t own as many basses as you but I have tried a bunch of basses at a high end bass shop near me so I have some experience. I even sold my 2000s G&L L-2000. Maybe I got lucky here? If you want an active bass you might be disappointed I guess but you just have to compensate on the amp or DI since they’re doing the amplification and eq shaping.

    @acvisanu ปีที่แล้ว

    I don’t get the hate on Joe Dart ii. Is it a weak volume or weak tone? Your first impression was great as you can turn up the volume on the bass why the hate? It seems unfair to pick a signature series bass with all of the quirky knobs and just trash it. I think best and worst should be a regular production models. It’s like picking Steve Harris fender and complain about the pinstripe and West Ham logo.

      Dude, isn't the JP-45OP like ridiculously good? I like it so much that sometimes I think I may just be trippin. But I quickly sold the actual Aria Pro II Detroit which this HB straight copies, but does it quite a bit nicer.

    • @myjagi
      @myjagi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justinkline1294... Could you explain in more detail, what you like more about the HB over the Aria Detroit?

    • @justinkline1294
      @justinkline1294 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@myjagi Sure. I think that the roasted maple slab (not veneer) fretboard on the HB looks nicer than rosewood of the Aria (although Aria's also slab, so if rw's yr thing . . . ). And I have the blue/tortoise combo for the body on the HB. My favorite color. Honestly, I at first bought the HB without really knowing about the Aria based on its looks alone. Had to have it.
      But most importantly, it's the instant "premium" feel of the HB in my hands. Best fretwork out of the box that I have ever encountered (noticeably). Aria had worst fret sprout (first time I've had to use a metal file on frets in 10+ years).
      And the HB is almost perfectly balanced to play sitting down (which I mostly do in front of my computer). The Aria has mad neck-dive, comparatively. It is very headstock-heavy due to the chunky traditional tuners used vs. the much lighter, sleeker HB tuning hardware.
      Both sound pretty good, but I like the crispness of the maple board on the HB. The Aria is deeper, darker. May just be personal preference here.
      But, bottom line, the Aria feels like it's the $200 bass. While the HB is among the nicest basses that I have ever played out of the box.
      It's crazy that the only differences (confirmed) between the two instruments are the respective fretboards, the headstock configuration and tuners.
      Because, again, in my experience they just feel very different. The HB is definitely my current #1 player (of like a dozen basses that I own). But it's just one man's opinion.

    When you sent your Joe Dart II bass back to Ernie Ball, did they fix the issue? I have one with the exact same issue so I am curious if I should reach out the them as well. I want to love this bass so much really cannot gel with it from the super low output to the very different tone it has.
