I mean he became infected because he had some semblance of a soul evidently but he's still a void being, right? If I'm wrong though, I really like the idea that Dung Defender does in fact figure out during the fight that 'hey maybe he's not infected' but fights anyways because he also reasons 'hey this is fun!'
This is exactly how I imagine Ogrim sounds. This is especially added to by how passionate the singing is. Darby is practically _screaming_ these lyrics sometimes. Every time he sings “ *FARFUNDA!!!!!* HEAR THE CRY OF THE SHIELD OF THE KIIIIING!” i can feel the energy behind it.
I will say I genuinely love the Dung Defender. Like, when I first played Hallow Knight I thought he was a joke boss as he was literally defending a room of poop. But then I remembered that bugs actually need that stuff for nurishment and even making homes for defending against the elements, so he then became this Defender of everyone. As he was protecting what was considered a valuable resource to the kingdom. Especially since he hadn't left his post for so long and saw the decay of the kingdom he loved so much, he remained loyal to the king and the other knights, and meeting you was probably a breath of fresh air and a lovely little fight to keep him going. Now, even more motivated.
Not to mention his joyful attitude is partly a facade. When you dreamnail him, it's clear that he misses his friends and the past glory of Hallownest. He might be the best knight in the realm.

Wasn't the fact he was exiled only in the Kickstarter? Since nothing tells us it is indeed the case in-game, and since the final game differs from the Kickstarter in many points, shouldn't it be no cannon?
yeah no I'm pretty sure Ogrin was never exiled by the king. his dream nail dialogue makes it pretty clear that he thought the hollow knight was the only vessel, which means he almost definitely didn't know what was the king doing in the abyss. he lives in the waterways because he protects Isma's grove, not because he was banished from the city

Ccmaci is creating a project called Hallownest Vocalized, basically giving every piece of dialogue in the game voice. It’s no musical, but if the cast had any singing ability, they theoretically could play the part.
I REALLY like how you translated Ogrim's character.One moment he signs about defending his home,and then happily signs "Doma Doma Doma!". It's a perfect copy of Ogrim in game,both brave knight and your best friend.

This song is amazing!! Dung defender is such an amazing character and these lyrics perfectly fit both the song itself and Ogrim as a character, his bond with the vessel in connection to the pale king and this sort of brotherly connection that he develops with the vessel. Everything about it is just so passionate and energetic, perfectly showing Ogrim’s bright and bubbly personality, I also really love the addition of all of his little voice lines in the song, especially having the “Farfunda!!!” And “Doma Doma Doma” being in the lyrics. I’d be really interested to see a lyric version of White Defender’s theme, since you could really go into Ogrim’s naivety and isolation since he doesn’t even know that the king is dead and the majority of the knights are gone. All of the White Defender dialogue is super sad and I’d love to hear how that’d be interpreted with your awesome lyrical work ✨☺️✨

As far as i know, Ogrim raising objections to the vessel plan was the reason he was banished.

Damn, now all I can think about is who else would be great vocal fits for the Hollow Knight cast (if!) as a musical. Clearly we’re not sticking too close to in-game voices since Alex is already Grimm.
Hornet could be Invidebit, Lindsay for the Radiance, Gentleman Walrus as the Traitor Lord, Tom as Cornifer, DB Greece as Brumm… anybody else got ideas?

Ccmaci is creating a project called Hallownest Vocalized, basically giving every piece of dialogue in the game voice. It’s no musical, but if the cast had any singing ability, they theoretically could play the part.

I REALLY like how you translated Ogrim's character.One moment he signs about defending his home,and then happily signs "Doma Doma Doma!". It's a perfect copy of Ogrim in game,both brave knight and your best friend.
I love the idea of a boss that uses the line of "Get past me and maybe you'll become whole" literally, as in your shade is locked behind the door it gaurds until you beat the boss, or chicken out and summon it with an egg.

This is so lively and energetic! Totally fitting for the character. Love how you implemented his battle cries! I sort of wish "White Defender" was added here, like how "Nightmare King" was added to the Grimm song, even though it's still amazing.
I loved Ogrim the Dung Defender, he was my absolute favorite boss in Hollow Knight. His personality and way of fighting was so amazing. And this song add more reasons why Orgim has a special place in my heart within the Hollow Knight.
And his battle cry is something I shall never forget ever.

This song is amazing!! Dung defender is such an amazing character and these lyrics perfectly fit both the song itself and Ogrim as a character, his bond with the vessel in connection to the pale king and this sort of brotherly connection that he develops with the vessel. Everything about it is just so passionate and energetic, perfectly showing Ogrim’s bright and bubbly personality, I also really love the addition of all of his little voice lines in the song, especially having the “Farfunda!!!” And “Doma Doma Doma” being in the lyrics.
I’d be really interested to see a lyric version of White Defender’s theme, since you could really go into Ogrim’s naivety and isolation since he doesn’t even know that the king is dead and the majority of the knights are gone. All of the White Defender dialogue is super sad and I’d love to hear how that’d be interpreted with your awesome lyrical work ✨☺️✨
