Hi Everyone, The EOS R5 offers class-leading autofocus with high-resolution and high frame rate video recording options using the maximum width of the full-frame sensor at high bit rates. Inevitably, this combination of features has potential to generate some significant heat, which will limit recording time. While concerns of overheating are speculation only at this time - given no final production EOS R5 models have been released -we have taken many steps to ensure the final product will be able to cope with movie shooting heat. These include: • Magnesium alloy was used in the body to dissipate heat away from internal components. • An “overheat control” function to reduce heat generation when the camera is in standby. • An inbuilt flash warning that alerts to when the internal temperature of the camera rises due to the processing power. We're making every effort to be transparent in relation to recording times, see below numbers as a guide. When the ambient temperature is 23°C and the camera begins recording from a “cold start,” the approximate maximum shooting time depends on the movie format setting, as follows. (Settings of 30 minutes or more is when recording is stopped and started immediately again after 29 minutes and 59 seconds.) • 8KRAW30p: approx. 20 min. • 8K30p: approx. 20 min. • 4K60p Uncropped: approx. 35 min. • 4K High-quality 30p: approx. 30 min. • 4K60p Cropped： approx. 25 min. Please note: if the temperature of the camera’s circuits rises due to shooting conditions or environment/weather conditions, the maximum duration of recording may be less than shown above.

@@SipanHota Yes for a camera that can do this: IBIS that will also work with all Canon lenses and that included an additional stabilization with IS lenses. 8K Video up to 30p in Canon RAW 8K Video up to 30p in 4:2:2 10 bit Canon Log H.265 or 4:2:2 10 bit HDR PQ H.265 Full width of the sensor used when recording 8K 4K at up to 120p 4:2:2 10 bit Canon Log full width of the sensor All recording modes and frame rates can be recorded internally Dual card slots: one is CFexpress and the other is UHS-II SD DPAF available in all modes and all frame rates including high speed Animal, eye and face detection A lot of the AF technology from the EOS-1D X Mark III is being rolled into the R5 and R6 So yeah I love it. Finally Canon stepped up to the plate. Now let's see what Sony can do.
05:14 - "Canon haven't put a recording limit on it, so I imagine it's gunna be sweet" - Would absolutely love a longer recording time than 30minutes - even if only 60-90 minutes in 4K 24/25/30P - or unlimited in 1080P etc...
Canon Australia - would really appreciate 4K upres / uploads of these final videos - as a lot of quality is lost in 1080p vs 4K encoding through youtube. Really not ideal to view soft 1080P shots of a flagship mirrorless camera that shoots 4K + 8K !

Canon Australia sure. But if he is a canon shooter and is affiliated with canon. Then the review has bias potential. You have to acknowledge they Someone who buys the camera themselves and publishes a complete third party and non affiliated review will be more objective and unbiased.

The purpose of this video was to allow those who will not have immediate access to the EOS R5 a chance to see its capabilities from launch. Any material produced prior to launch by nature would need collaboration with Canon as there would be no way for these photographers to acquire the product otherwise. We understand this may introduce an element of bias but we believed it was important to provide our customers a way to see what the camera can do from launch and ultimately the views provided by the photographer are their own.
Im Sony Alfa fan and on paper this R5 is beast and amazing but this video that I watch on 42 plasma panel... 🤔doesnt make me say Wow. Low light performance medicore and color are good but once again not wow.
Andrew I'm a bit confused, and a tad frightened. Let me explain: First of all it's not hard to see that you are a good looking well spoken lad who has grown a beard to look older, and perhaps so that you can look more like a director, like Philip Bloom for example, but what frightened me was the opening music for this review. It was the kind of music you find in a horror movie. Then those two guys with backpacks walking like zombies, a campfire in the darkness, smoke in the air...then you with your back facing us with the camera your hand showing off your thick hair from the back and a sheer drop right in front of you. That was YOU wasn't it? That guy pulling the ropes overhead looked half dead by the way. You classified the face detection as a user error rather than a problem with the camera.... but did you stop to think that maybe the camera can't focus on, or maybe doesn't have face detection for what's not alive? What confused me is that you don't have the actual camera that you are supposedly reviewing. A lot of your rambling talk begins with the word 'unfortunately'. 'Unfortunately I don't have the camera with me', 'unfortunately I didn't get the chance to test the slow motion' and 'unfortunately you're unable to shoot true 50 frames' and so and so forth, a lot of guesswork by you. Instead you should get a couple of hot babes to pose with you and not waste time on these types of reviews. Just make sure you take the camera with you!

You mean the green skin color tones on the Sony? Nope not for me.
