I remember this being played by Joshua Bell at a funeral of a dear friend. She did her best to promote my music, to recognised at lunchtime concerts, I used to do. I have never played it in public myself, but have recorded on you tube with my own backing track during lockdown. I suppose, I was looked after like the Polish violinist in the film. They say don't hide your light in a bush but we all do out of embarrassment. This tune even though simple has complex feelings as it moves on in the upper register of the violin.
The theme of the ladies in lavender is A Masterpiece. That simple A masterpiece, when you close your eyes and just listen to it, it elevate you to a higher dimension.
This is my favorite performance of this piece on the entire internet! The setting and acoustics is amazing. The two musicians blended together perfectly! I’ve watched it like 20 times already!
Glad you like it! We put it together during a break from Covid lockdowns using only the most basic equipment but the real thanks ho to Nigel Hess for his composition.
I have heard other recordings of this work but none as moving. This violinist makes his instrument sing showing a whole depth and range of emotion. And the accompanying is equally as sensitive. Bravo!
The acoustics, and the gentlemen playing the piano and violin have such depth, gentleness, and extraordinary power and kindness! Every time I hear this performance I feel like I’m being transported to Heaven to be with our heavenly Father. I have said to friends that what I want most when I get to Heaven is to play the violin, viola, and cello. I’m sure they are looking down and smiling when they hear each and every one of your performances. Thank you so much and may God bless you both!❤ Debra S.
Excellent performance of this modern classical composition. An outstanding composition which should retain its popularity into the next millenia. Mr Nigel Hess should be extremely proud of this Magnus Opus.
Amy Lovendaal I first heard this beautiful piece of music on ClassicFM and fell in love with it right away. I listen to "Ladies in Lavender" at least once a day, every day, (Joshua Bell's rendition); hence TH-cam recommended this video (I guess) and : I love it !!! Great performance, gentlemen !
That's very kind of you. It's a very special piece for Laurence because it's his mother's favourite music - and she, very sadly, is not at all well. So thank you!
Exquisitely rendered. Thank you. A challenging model for my daughter Katherine who plays this on violin! I look forward to seeing you both live in Charlton Kings when we can.
It’s what made us feel comfortable at the time! At least individually we weren’t wearing socks and crocs simultaneously. That is most definitely a bad look!
@@musicatminch1670 oh I dunno, crocs and socks 🧦 are cozy in winter. I love this video. I have watched it over a hundred times. Thanks 🙏 for sharing such joy 😊
