Goal completed. i saw ur channel 8 months ago and decided to start skating and now i have just landed my lutz and am preparing for my first competition. thanks for inspiring me!!!! you're literally my hero! ❤❤❤
a lutz in 8 months! thatś impressive!!
Good for you! I just started figure skating again at 59. I have a goal to learn jumps!
That's great 😊
omg what congrats
I’m a figure skater too!!! Can’t wait to keep seeing your progress!
Me three! 👍🏾
You are the reason why i started artistic roller skating❤❤ When i was 12 y/o i really wanted to begin but felt like i was too old. But seeing your videos convinced me and i asked my mother and she said yes!! Now in training super happy (with 5 y/o) and it makes me feel so proud that i did ask
I’m just gonna say, the grind gets harder when u start double lutz and different upright spin variations 😔✊ still love my sport tho
Fr tho like… why they gotta make it so hard!!!
never getting that far so its fine lmaoo
I just started working on double axels recently and I swear I have like 100 bruises on my butt
@@flamingo23412 right
i love watching your progress! i started skating at 11 and im currently working on a two foot spin! you are just amazing!
aaaa congratulations on 100k!!! thank you for answering my question as well and since i commented that, i managed to ask my mom to pay for my learn to skate classes and i start next week tuesday! my figure skater friend gave me her old jacksons that fit me perfectly and i go to public sessions with her to try and get comfortable on the ice and it's been really fun! so excited to go to my first class!!
ILYSM❤
Thank you for answering a lot of these questions because they were very helpful to me!!!❤
Awesome video, Sofia! Honestly, I 100% agree with you in your point that we often feel down because we aren't making progress as fast as other skates. I am also a figure skater, and I also find that I always compare myself with other skaters, and I think that I often get compared for being 'too slow' or my progress isn't as good as the rest of my teammates (I skate on a synchronized team), and I often always see people doing axels, or doing awesome sit spins and I compare myself a lot when I see that. There is a lot of competition at my level so I always find myself feeling down because of not doing as well as the other skaters
tysmmm for answering my question!!! love ur videos, and i cant wait to see u get better and better in the future❤❤
You are still young and it's never too late. I started at 29 and I'm almost 2 years in. It is really intimidating as an older adult and I never thought I'd be able to jump but it really is trying to beat yourself.
You are so good and inspire a lot of skaters like me don't let people bring you down I have watched every one of your videos and love seeing you progress.
ahh i got here in an hour! i’m not kidding you literally inspired me to start figure skating! i’ve gotten to grade 5 and have followed ur tut to get my tow foot spin!
Congrats on 100K, Sofia! I really like to watch your videos and witness your progress, eventhough I'm not a figure skater. I started taking violin lessons when I was 15, and it's been more than 2 years now. I'm definitely not the most talented and fastest learner violin student, but I love the experience and practicing it and that's what really matters. You're definitely inspiring not only to figure skaters, but also to all the adult begginers in other crafts. Keep going🤍
OMG SOFIA ILYSM! YOU INSPIRED ME TO START SKATING 🫶🫶
so sweet tysm!!!🥹❤️🫶
ur literally my inspiration lol im 18 and started figure skating!
yayy that’s so exciting!!!
Heyy, I just wanted to say thank you for your amazing channel. I was diagnosed with anorexia a few months ago, and haven’t been able to skate since so that my body could repair. I’ve been really struggling to find motivation to recover, but watching your videos gets me excited to want to skate again, and they motivate me so much to try to recover. Thank you loads❤️❤️
yay! my question was answered! tysm sofia! i never thought you would actually see it lmao
Girl you're so pretty!! I've been watchinh you and you're so kind❤❤
tysm!!! :’)
I so appreciate you and what you do. Today I went to try a figure skating lesson and listen it seems simple just balance just do turns just jump until you really try and it's not that simple. I'm proud of the way you're doing and you're my inspiration and I had a bit of a hard time and different than I thought but I won't give up and one day I'll be like you
thank you
I love ur videos! I started skating when I was older too and seeing I’m not the only one, is really inspiring ❤
Sofia you inspire me so much I started skating at the beginning of summer this year and now I’m learning scratch spins ❤ And your SOO pretty 💕
thanks for answering my question ❤❤
AHH TY FOR ANSWERING MY QUESTION!!!
ofc😁❤️❤️
you're my inspiration :) I'm 11 and i always have loved skating (specifically figure skating), but i stopped in kindergarten bc of the pandemic and never continued. im gonna start again and i wanna compete just like you
OMG!!! I love you 🤩
Love this!!! And would also love to see tutorials on scratch spin and loop jumps! You should def do a few live streams
Ilysm Sofia!! Could pls make a tutorial on scratch spins and some jumps
Which jumps?
@@dinos.on.ice123 idk just basic jumps and stuff because I’m just starting out
I do rollerskating in the summer with those we call the picsskates in my country, and im honestly not a big fan either but they keep me like on the same lvl so i can go back to skating after summer and not forgotten it all. I kinda want to compete, but im terrified, but you helped me alot with overcomming that fear! You are such an inspiration for me and you help me alot!! 💗
I studied dance as a kid but began professional ballet training at age 28, and made it into the ballet company after two years! Never put a ceiling on what you can accomplish, and be smart about your training!
You should start doing lives!! I would totally watch them 🫶
I was never an ice skater, but a roller skater and I loved it! I always would tell myself, I am
Going to be that old woman on the floor doing it till I die.
Then I got busy, had children and skating began to disappear from my life completely. The goal of skating till I was old came to a screeching halt in 2018.
I sat in the hospital with an unexpected neck issue resulting in major surgery, I was almost paralyzed from
The neck down.
I’d like to say at 46 years old, I got back into skating and took a fall but this injury occurred from a long labor with my first son 20 years before.
What I am trying to say is this….NEVER stop skating! I did and I so wish I hadn’t stopped. I am 52 now and will never skate again! 😢
But, I am grateful I did have decades of skating in my
Past. It was such a passion of mine and for anyone out there…
LIVE YOUR DREAMS! So…as you age, you can look back and say…I already have done it! If tomorrow brings an end to that dream at least you won’t have regrets.
My regret is that I got too busy to continue but I had to come to a place of gratitude that I still did it way back when!
Enjoyed watching your journey! Keep going!
Hey Sofia don't let them make you feel bad
It's fine to start at any age
I started at 6-7 but your great keep going 😊😊😊
Thank you for answering my question!! You are also so pretty
aw thank you sm!! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m 15 and I want to start this really helped me ❤️
You are amazing!
Hi i saw you in Boston i was so happy to see you i love your videos ❤
The idea that someone would take the time to tell you you’re not good, or about how their progress was faster, says more about them than it does about you! That’s insecure behavior and a very flawed character! You’re progressing and you’re beautiful!!
That was so beautiful
early!
hiii!
Early🤠

nuh uh
Wat
where I live in Canada only people who are training for the Olympics can in summer but I still skate in winter
IM ALSO A LIBRA♎️❤💗
twins 🤭
AHH LIBRA TWINS ♎️
I'm training figure skating 😊❤⛸️
I’d love to be a figure skater but I’m terrified cuz of those “fail videos”
Most of the time the fails are high level skaters who fall like that normally, u get used to it
its okay if you fail, keeo trying and you'll be great!!
keep*
How old do you consider a figure skater to be “young?” Would u consider me young? (12 years old with axel + doubles)
When will u become a coach? I’m not old enough to be one but I’ve done most of the tests and want to be a juvenile coach in 4 years when I’m 16
Omg ur birthday is a day before mine
Can you pls make a waltz jump and scratch spin tutorial 🧊⛸️❄️🩵
Watching you on ice reminded me of Dorthy Hamil. Your so young that I doubt you have ever heard of her. She won the gold medal in figure skating in 1976. Like you, she also wore glasses. She was also nearsighted like you are. But your glasses indicate that your a bit more nearsighted than she was. So she didn't wear glasses when skating, at least not in competitions anyway. But off ice she always wore her glasses. You probably aren't able to see well enough to skate without your glasses. I wonder if wearing glasses has any effect on the judges in competitions? I think you would agree that you rarely ever see any figure skater wearing glasses in competitions. Your really quite attractive and I think you look great wearing glasses. But have you considered getting contacts just for skating competitions where wearing glasses maybe frowned on an even cost you points? Many athletes wear glasses fulltime but wear contacts when competing in their sport. I'm a retired optician and my daughter was a very good softball player. when she was 17 she failed her eye exam and got her first glasses. She had always wanted glasses from when she was just a small child. So she was very happy when she got her glasses. But she also realized how dangerous it was for her to be wearing glasses playing softball. So I fitted her disposable contacts for softball. As soon as practice or a game was over she took her contacts off and put her glasses on.
Try inline skates they are more like ice skating.
Heyy! I’ve been doing group lessons for 2 years and I’m thinking of switching to private lessons. How did you find a coach that is gonna take you? I can’t find anything 😭
Im a newbie to figure skating and I do not have a professional tech or skate shop near me so I blindly purchased my first pair of skates which was the Riedell Horizons, would you say that would be a good skate for a beginner?
In the picture of the roller skates they look more like inline skates, just wanted to let you know
oh also I thought a waltz jump tutorial would be cool, idk if you have made one already but I am going to check
hiiii! I dont wanna be rude or anything but home school isn't only when your parents or a tutor teach you, there are programs specifically made for home schooling, where you have teachers and tests and quizes, but it's on a dvd or online.
6 RINKS?!?! I have one rink in my area in a little tent and the only others are over an hour away 🥲
just landed my double toe!! I also did excel nationals
We have one big stadium with 4 rinks and then 5 seperate outdoor rinks
