Time to give this video a Doug Score Starting with the weekend category: In styling this video is easy to watch, but it isn't anything fancier than a Yahoo Messenger video call, it earns a 4 out of 10. Acceleration is slow, but considering it's crossing an ocean, it's not bad. The lagginess of the call earns this video a 3 out of 10. Handling leaves some to be desired, the host asks good questions, but stammers and gathers his thoughts a lot. He's no Jay Leno, but he's certainly not a kindergartener. It earns a 5 out of 10. Next is quality, which measures reliability and materials, and I have to say it's good, but it could be better. The video jumps around too much for my taste, and the cameras were probably lower end bargain things from Walmart, earning a 4 out of 10. Practicality is usually based on cargo volume and fuel economy, but since this is a video and not a car, the score is different. This is based on content and end message, and in teaching us about Doug DeMuro when he's not doing his own show, this is an excellent resource earning this video a 9 out of 10. Doug's videos are so good because he focuses on the little things that other reviewers ignore but that people care about, the quirks and features, and his impressions are those of an everyday guy, not somebody trying to impress everyone with how awesome a driver they are.
Doug DeMuro is by far my favorite TH-camr. He seems like such a nice guy and down to earth, most of the other car youtubers that I watch is so full of themselves. Doug just seems like regular down to earth dude. This video makes me even more happy that I support his channel.

Dougs low budget car videos are the best. Astek, Hummer, Kia videos put an interesting prospective to something we see daily instead of a supercar we will never buy.

The thing I really love about doug's video is its simplicity and naiveness. No crazy editing, music and lighting to make car cool and fantastic. Just a car park by road in daylight with engine noise like what if you see that car yourself in real life. And doug never pretend to be an expert like other car blogger. Even though as a professional car journalist for years and past car seller worked for farrari, I'm sure doug is indeed an expert. He still show every interesting quirks and features like he never saw them before. Some of the small details he mentioned probably would never being talked about in shows like topgear or motor trend because those big journalists may think them as too simple.
This is the first video of yours that I've watched. A proper down to earth interview, whit a proper down to earth guy. You got me dude, going to have to watch the rest now, subscription earned.... Properly.

I agree with what Doug talks about around minute 17:00. I cannot stand youtubers that just "blah blah blah" for 10 minutes. I'm talking to you, Tavarish and AutoVlog.
I agree that Doug keep doing his job the way he's been doing with just the material he needs, so far it's been perfect, he quickly became into my top 5 Fav TH-camrs.
As an avid Doug Demuro viewer, some of my favorite content of his are the old Jalopnik videos from 2016. I would love to see Doug interact and talk with some of the other car bloggers/youtubers. I think we would all look forward to a matt farah/chris harris/doug demuro podcast.
The moral if the story: do TH-cam because you want to make videos...don't make videos because you want to make money... If you have the passion and desire to pursue and post projects (really, anything, not just youtube) the success will come because it's something you just enjoy...and doing it is the success...the views, the subs, the ads, that's all a by product of the success... Very inspiring video for new creators... Ps...of course Douglas is an Apple guy...
Because of Doug, every time I pass a car he has reviewed, my friends know all about it because I start listing its features and quirks. Even went to a Maserati dealership to show my friend the window switches

The thing that turned me on to Doug's content is is his infectious enthusiasm to whatever car he is reviewing. It's sincere and if there is a car review that he isn't quite enjoying it quite shows in the video; that sort of honesty is to be respected.
I watch all of Dougs videos- the majority of which I've watched several times- and I've always wondered... . Is Doug really this smiley in real life?? One of my favorite things about his personality is how he seems to be so happy go happy be happy, well. HAPPY
I like learning this small details about vehicles I'll probably never have any personal experience with. Years ago I had a 2009 Dodge Challenger RT on order, and it took months to be delivered to the dealership. While I was waiting I was looking up things like pictures of the trunk and simple stuff like that.
Great video, I enjoy learning more about my favorite TH-camr's. Doug's videos are always on my watch list, very interesting to hear his thoughts about what works for him and his focus.
Takeaway: Get your priorities right. Don't engage too much in self-indulgence (driving the car>reviewing); and if you're a TH-camr, don't just focus on the best products of your specialty, be an all-encompassing individual. Great interview, props to Doug for keeping it real. A couple of the other automotive channels I started following around about the same time as Doug's have started to become very boring and repetitive, whilst Doug's just gets better and better. There are only so many "buying my new supercar with cash" videos you can watch before it all starts to seem a bit fake and over the top - it starts to become clear that they don't actually have anything interesting to say. Also well thought out and presented questions in this interview, nicely done, will be looking out for future interviews.

It is really hard to simplify, but that was the main take away for me. Sam's videos are really beautiful, but his subs are less than half of Doug's. I watch the whole of Mike''s videos. He does use filler stuff, but it's sometimes interesting to see a random clip of him going off-roading or shooting random guns or whatever.
At first I thought this video was going to be bad, but I really enjoyed it. It's really well done and I look forward to seeing the one with Linus. Doug is also an awesome guy. Love his videos.
25:46 the "mass" appeal missed is 1. writing ability 2. skill at humor and wide appeal of it (quirks) 3. mole right on your face, that's quirky and memorable. 4. skill with spoken language; legit fast with words and topics and on point speak well and at least an unremarkable voice (not annoying). 5. you got brains for numbers too / logical 6. Nothing offensive..oh you mentioned that eventually. no swearing. please NEVER take tv unless its all your control. And imo you could review any car...I'd enjoy a review of a 1994 Corsica...if it was entertaining :/ which is what you do :)
