    Adjuster here, this is why claims get denied because there is basically no damage. Roofer keeps saying "lets find it, roof is old". Of course the soft metals will have some damage because they are thin metals but likely the shingle portion is normal wear and tear or not damaged at all. All these roofers are just out to replace the roof and door knock some business. You can tell he hasn't been on this roof prior to filing the claim, one would think he would inspect the roof first, then tell the homeowner if its worth a claim or not. Roof is fine dude move on to the next one.

    • @AverageIntelligenceProductions
      @AverageIntelligenceProductions 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Looks is an important word. The roof is an extension of your homes value. A large hail hit over some time will leak. A leak that goes unnoticed for a month to years can cause thousands in damages. The company you worked for did not train you to spot true damage. There is a reason homeowners such as myself have insurance for this reason specifically. I was a project manager for a very reputable company and I met hundreds of adjusters who I never had an issue with. This video is making me want to get back into it.

    Steps not to follow as a sales rep when doing a follow up inspection:
    1) Park in the wrong direction on the road.
    2) Wearing a tool belt when you only need chalk.
    3) Not placing a sponge to prevent damage to the gutters.
    4)Not securing the ladder to the gutter.
    I agree though with debating the damage with the ladder assist. The ladder assist is not a licensed adjuster and you can debate with him until he finally concedes.

  • @re8746
    @re8746 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Roofs cost to much to replace without insurance help. You can thank OC, GAF, Tamko and Malarkey for this. If it was not for insurance, no one would re-roof. It would be all repair work. And the typical deductible is 1% which will only go higher. Insurance companies do not want to replace roofs and should not have to as the cost of a 35+ sq roof can run as much as $30k. One day insurance companies will not offer roof replacement unless a tornado or hurricane hits. This will put ABC Supply, Beacon and SRS etc out of business. Its coming folks.

    • @apcarl6351
      @apcarl6351 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Why should insurance companies not have to replace a roof if it is covered under the policy? There is no way the insurance companies are going to start excluding roofs in their policies.

    • @re8746
      @re8746 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@apcarl6351 Use to be a $500 deductible. Now the norm is 1% of the appraised value that the homeowner has to come up with. See where its going or went? Soon the deductible will be 2% appraised value.

    • @apcarl6351
      @apcarl6351 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@re8746 The deductible in higher risk states is 1-2% of the policy limit. The appraised value of the home does not come into play because the insurance company is only liable for construction materials and labor not market value. Usually the coastal areas and the south where the probability of wind and storm damage is high will you see these deductibles. The upper Midwest and central states deductibles are common to be 500-2,000. But they will never stop covering roofs because it would devastate the entire roofing industry. They will continue to pass off the cost to policy holders.

    But if you have the ladder already up when they get there, it gives certain adjusters the thought that maybe you were up there doing something you shouldn’t have.

      No you can’t see there is no damage from your house. Sometimes it takes months after a storm for damage to show. You will probably be one of those roofs in a neighborhood that’s been hit by 10 different hail storms and thinks it looks fine from the ground, deny anyone to inspect your roof, then two years later there’s zero granules left on your shingle and insurance denies you and you have to pay out of pocket. So you will go out and get 15 different bids on your roof, go with the cheapest one and fuck yourself yet again. Ya love to see it.

    There won’t be a next time but after seeing the videos of roofers with licenses confront the adjusters I will call the roofer that did my roof to counter anything the adjuster says because the adjuster is trained to deny claims not to help the homeowner. The reason I say there won’t be a next time my roof came out to $12,000.00 and was done right and so my roof is warranted in writing for 15 years.

    • @timmedlock3272
      @timmedlock3272 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a hip roof. You don't get enough net free area due to the smaller ridge relative to the size of the roof. This roof has some big turbine vents on the back. They'll move more air than a static ridge vent + plus they spin 24/7 drawing hot air up and out.
