I like the way you've put this together. From Diya's pleading with Mustapha to him allegeding he was set up in a coup. Diya was a victim of his own greed and ambition. If he wasn't consulted by Abacha he could have simply resigned like Ebitu Ukiwe did. His ambition nearly led 10 people to an early grave. Fadipe said he was only involved in the coup planning for 9 days before his arrest, for a coup that was planned for more than 6 months, I can't say he was integral to the planning.
It is obvious that Bamaiyi conceived the coup and convinced Diya, who also had it in mind. Bamaiyi played two faces, hoping to go scot-free, any side that clicked. Diya's didn't say anything during the interrogation by Mustafa not knowing that Bamaiyi deceived him. When he learnt that Bamaiyi was not arrested, he concluded that it was a staged coup.
Major Fadipes testimony is the best thing to happen to Oputas panel. That man is an unsung hero ….Nigerias owes that man so so much and I pray 🙏 he receives blessings from heaven unlimited
Major Fadipe's eloquence is the stuff of legends. His record keeping even surpasses his eloquence. However, he waffled a lot and would have thrown himself in trouble if the cross-examination happened in court. Nonetheless, his brilliance shone brightly here, and I am sure he did manage to sway most of the audience to his side. I have never been more disappointed in a lawyer than I am with this one. He really matched Major Fadipe's brilliant performance with a mediocre one of his own. How the hell did he allow Fadipe to get away with so much? And he said so many unnecessary things that turned the audience further against his client. Jeez!
This is my first time to comment on all the videos I have been watching on oputa panel, I just want say I am disappointed with the way and manners the councel to late Gen Diya is treating the witness, there's too much hatred, and trying force him to lie on what happened, but is a lesson to existing and up coming lawyers, so that they can not leave such kind of records, i believe if the council can see this video he will burry himself alive.
It's the truth that Major Fadipe made some mistakes but he is a very honest individual. I thank God that he was not killed. I believed he was talked into this Coupe by his master. But he still had to do all he could to set his boys freed, those he believed that they were innocent. God bless you Major Fadipe. You are a good man. Thank you Jesus Christ for saving Major Fadipe's life. To God be the Glory!
