I preordered the Original back in the Days, played it and fell in love with the Voice of Tracey Rooney, Chie Satonaka's first Voiceactress, that Woman gave my Waifu of Choice Chie a wonderful Voice for a long time, THEN, Golden hits and the fresh and powerful Voice of the magnificent Erin Fitzgerald hit and i have to admit HER Voice is even better, it underlines the tomboyish kind of Nature of Chie, this untamed Kung Fu Girl
If i close my eyes i can pretend Golden Chie never happened. She sounded chill, reliable and strong in the physical sense, she naturally became my romance choice in P4. Golden Chie sounds like an annoying brat despite having the same lines, only even finished her social link because i like having my party having ultinate personas
No offense for old voice actor. I think the golden version VA better fit for This because of her personality. This Chie sound too mature for her active person.
I prefer her new voice. She sounds so energetic in Golden, that´s how she´s supposed to be. I can´t imagine a hyperactive kung fu meat lover girl with such calm voice.
I heard it was the voice actress retired, but then I heard it was to match the English voice actress closer to the Japanese voice actress. Honestly, confuses me, but I think it’s just not well known if one or the other happened. I like them both, since the first one really makes Chie a very stable friend and not as rambunctious as her later counterpart, who I think was a good fit for the anime and Golden, which I think stick closer to the sillier side (though the game is pretty dark in all the mediums). I actually got the original PS2 version in 2008, but I never finished it until 2016 (I just never understood how to play JRPGs until beating Pokémon Soulsilver). Matthew Mercer (who is the voice of Yusuke in P5(R) actually voiced Kanji in the anime (and ironically is voicing Leon in the new Resident Evil film, Death Island, despite the character has a new voice actor, meaning that Matthew has played each of Leon’s voice in all the animated RE films).
@@mokonarose01 Yeah, but I mean it’s not that odd, VAs really make money voicing everything. Mitsuru from P3’s VA voiced a character in a horror game called ObScure (its really fun too) as a black girl named Ashley, so you definitely get voice actors playing anything (it was messed up that she’s a white girl playing a black girl, but the white female character (Shannon) was played by an Asian Va, and ironically she actually fit the role really well). VAs just work a ton to get money, because I don’t think it pays a lot (especially non-union, which is why I think more games have changed VAs in newer titles); I also think it’s why the P5 anime was so expensive, because of the voice actors and up charging, but I could be wrong.
@@mokonarose01 i actually just recalled another connection to Persona (5 to be exact) and Resident Evil. Which I didn’t know until hearing a story about RE 1 Director’s Cut, where a man named Mamoru Samuragochi was this composer (dubbed Japanese Beethoven) who actually was deaf, reworked the album from the first game. Now if you heard the basement/kitchen them (it’s in the kitchen in the version), it has horrible horn sounding music, like farting horn sounds, which was really odd from a guy who was so renowned. But later on, it came out he used work from another artist, as he didn’t actually have composing talent, and he wasn’t deaf, which people learned quickly as he reacted to noise when he shouldn’t have. And if you think of it, Ichiryusai Madarame was inspired by this guy, just changed the story a bit. So he actually is a reference to the guy who duped japan and got on the RE soundtrack to make infamous game history, in two different titles.
Bruh this VA was way better than the one they used for golden, she's actually not annoying unlike golden which was annoying and probably could give me hearing loss

Man, I played vanilla P4 at least three times and Chie was my first playthrough girl and I'm still blindsided by the old voice.
I can hear Chie screaming. Oh god help she's so loud in Golden.
Adds to chatacter
This voice is cute but I feel that Golden's has more personality
That's just a scene where she speaking calmly
I’m so use to her screaming that I’m actually scared how calm her voice is
Didn't really suit the character, but it was so much more pleasant to listen to lol
I miss chie's old voice, she was perfect.
Hard disagree but ok
Would need to hear her do chie more hyper active or aggressive moments
I knew the original was different but WOW! That is insane loool. I prefer the Golden voice but this one has its charm.
It would be cool if P5 Arena was released and they bring this VA back for adult Chie.
You know… in a game where we see an adult version of Chie… this voice would fit her like a marriage ring.
Woah they really changed her entrie personality for golden huh
Both of her English voices are the two extremes of what the Japanese voice is like lol.
@@ShadowOfMassDestruction in the golden version she sounded like one of the rugrats i cant remember which one
I love old chie's voice

I liked the old one better. The old chie was a tomboy but had an onee san gap moe and you tend to notbhave thatbin english va
With the old voice actor I feel like I’m going to keep my ear drums
@@maozadong552That's my number 1 reason i dislike Golden Chie so much. i swear the first time i heard her scream my ears hurt for a few seconds
I agree
This one sounds like chie trying to sound like Yukiko
it took me years to find out that she had 2 different VAs, judge me but I particularly always play JRPG in the original language
oh my god i'm developing a crush for the same character with a different voice
all love to Erin but now I get the old VA choice
This is a nice voice, Golden is reck childish
Glad they kept the golden one for arena and didnt change it again
I prefer her new voice. She sounds so energetic in Golden, that´s how she´s supposed to be. I can´t imagine a hyperactive kung fu meat lover girl with such calm voice.
She sounds fine during the battle gameplay, like why is everyone expecting her to screech during this scene exactly? 😂
@@alexandersmith4731 She doesn´t sounds like a teen girl, too chill for an energetic girl like Chie.
@amarant1275 she's energetic enough, idk why energetic needs to sound like hyper autism on drugs
Honestly the old VA for Chie is good, I just think that her Golden VA is a better fit for her tomboy personality
CHIE IS THE BEST
Shes sounds so much older then she looks its not bad i thought they are in 2nd year of high school?
I wish we could get a option for her as a va
And this is why we play New Game + boys
I wonder why they replaced her VA?
