basically, there are 2 kinds of guitars. First is the classical guitar, the other is acoustic. Classical guitars use nylon strings (the guitar my brother uses for his instrumental songs). Acoustic guitars use steel (metal) strings.
People generally like to use classical guitars for instrumental songs or pieces that involve lots of plucking (ie spanish songs). Acoustic guitars are generally used in most of the contemporary songs you hear on the radios, besides the electric guitar.

yup! Since this song is in the key of F, a lot of barre chords will be required. Practice is the key!

i would suggest getting used to knowing all basic chords first, from A to G. Know it in such a way whereby if someone were to say "G", you would know how to play it, and not have to refer to any tabs etc.
Then you can start learning to change chords. So for example, change from a G to a C. Make sure you can change it fast and confidently etc.
After that, you could start with the strumming

Excellent. Thanks for the strum pattern. I'll be using a no barre chord key of D? version. It uses the chords G9, A and Bm7.

guys here's a tip. you can learn the strum patterns better if you feel the song. you have to listen diligently on the timing and the groove because strum patterns are not really learned because they're self-taught. just a friendly advice because i too struggled with strumming when i first learned to play the guitar :D

thanks for clarifying. i always have trouble determining the key of the song. is there an easy way to do it? like first chord of the verse or first chord of the chorus etc

EXCELLENT work my brother! question for you....have you done anything with "shane and shane"? the song "there is nothing like you"? just starting working on that one....and there are some "interesting" chords in it! =-)

Hi, you can see the strumming pattern that I used from my brother's blog. He has come up with the chord sheets with the lyrics and strumming pattern on it. You can visit the blog by clicking on the banner on my channel page. Thanks!

    Hi Daniel
Could you please right down the strumming patterns on all instructional video's. I can't seem to pick them up by just listening. Everyone seems to focus on the chords, which can be found on any chord chart but strumming patters that relate to songs are extemely rare. Please help. Thank you!
