    LYRICS
It takes a hell of a heart to know what a heart really needs
And I’m finding out that love ain’t what loves cut out to be
If I was not my mommas boy, I’d leave you crying in this car
Punch a hole in your damn dashboard and forget the girl you are
We’ve been fighting for so long, it’d be a shame to let this go
But I’d rather let it lie than hurt a sweet girl I know
And it’s getting dark now so won’t you just stay
And I’ll tell you that I love you till the leaving goes away
Till the leaving leaves this house
    No we ain’t going out
Till I make some promises that I can’t keep
And I wish I could explain how the toxins in my brain
Get me so damn down sometimes I can’t speak
And you’ll try understand why I can’t be a better man
But it’s hard when I’m yelling at you in the street
But if leaving comes to staying and you walk yourself away
Leave knowing that no one could love you more than me
I hope the world don’t mind all the simple things I ask
Like a porch with good lighting and to hear my lady laugh
And I’ll act indifferent because I don’t want to leave
Because leavings for a younger man that I don’t want to be
Till the leaving leaves this house
    No we ain’t going out
Till I make some promises that I can’t keep
And I wish I could explain how the toxins in my brain
Get me so damn down sometimes I can’t speak
And you’ll try understand why I can’t be a better man
But it’s hard when I’m yelling at you in the street
So if leaving comes to staying and you walk yourself away
Leave knowing that no one could love you more than me
(I really appreciate all the support. It was a pleasure meeting Zach Bryan and shooting this session for “Leave”.)

Chords for thoes who need them.
      -320033 x2
      -X22033
      -X32033
      D D, D, DU
There is seemingly random walk ups and downs. On the 2nd count of G you hammer the 2nd fret on the A string then play the A chord(idk the name) then the same on the 3rd of the A string from C(?) up to G

Tyler Childers - Unplugged version of harlan road or shake the frost. The one where he is beardless. That will help get you in more, I am new to this scene too. I love Benjamin Tod, and Childers so far as well as Bryan. Didnt know this is what country really was... none of that makeup cowboy bullshit where you try to sing like a cowboy super bad lol.

Or, he's lived and *felt* every moment rather *fully* . So many of us try hard to push things off, ignore them, cover them up with something. Interspection and trying to be present can be painful, but it means living fully. Not saying he does this, but it seems he must more than most.

How deeply love can hurt, yet be the only thing that can heal that pain at the same time. I say all of this because your music could be the soundtrack of our life together. Zach…man I feel you on this song. It’s not about my girl or anything but my daughter. She’s had a rough time and I’m trying my best to communicate with her depression and anger. I played this for her because it broke me down to tears how I feel about her and want to change everything as a dad. She didn’t want to listen. God that line that says “I don’t want to leave, because leaving is for a younger man I don’t want to be”, so many lines. So if leavin' comes to stayin' and you walk yourself away
Leave knowin' that no one could love you more than me. That speaks the heart of a father to my daughter. Thank you. Thank you for bearing your soul.

I watched him die the day before I turned 16, and I regret so many things. He was cold to me but he had a huge heart and I didn’t get enough time with him. But I know I will be there for the moments with my kids that he came short on, and that he tried his very best even when he was sick and tired. I love you dad, and thank you Zach.

I had the opportunity to meet Zach at the Pineville show and told him he was going to be huge one day. He humbly laughed it off in disbelief. We all know it’s coming and I’m glad to be a witness. Enjoying the process. Great artist!

Nothing but respect for this man. Declined big record deals to travel with his friends and record with them. Doesn't care about his new found fame. Serves his country proudly.

If you listen to this mans words, you can learn a lot about how to treat the ones you love with a full heart. There no room for regret or half-ass love in a healthy relationship. Of course you’ll make mistakes but it’s how you try and make up for them that counts. I wish a guys with a true message like Zach would be on the top of radio. These are the kinds of people we should make famous.

Or one I will never want to remember , it sickens me when I wonder how many other folks are alone tonight in this crazy world we live in . And how they might be dealing with it . Cheers , keep your chin up because I barley can -

Im 40 years old and this kid put together a song that hits me at my core. 16 years and we've been through it all. We hung on though and its not all rainbows and unicorns but we are rooted in love. Wee bit of advice for the young bloods, build a strong foundation. So as long as you have that, you can always tear it down and rebuild. Much love
