Liner Hanger from Baker Hughes

Liner Hanger is a tool/system that is used to hang a liner in a production well. Liner is similar to casing, but it is not run to the full depth of the well, as casing. Liner hanger systems could be mechanical or hydraulic, premium or standard, rotating or non-rotating, conventional or expandable and pocket slip.

Liner hangers are the most dangerous thing out there. I have been on or heard about many drilling rigs that burned up because of the these. Especially when you cut the mud weight after setting the liner. Works on paper --- not down hole. You would have to go to well control school to understand what happens when you try to kill a well with a bad hanger that allows gas to be a lot higher in the well. Not possible
