I have just received the new XF56mm F1.2 R WR and it seems to me that it has an issue: I use it on X-E4 and it is very noisy and focus hunting constantly regardless of settings. When I press play to review photos it also makes a weird noise (as the focus inside moves) - is it the same with your copy? I have previously used XF56mm F1.2 R and I don't remember it having this focus noise. Could you advise me whether this is normal and what is your experience with the new lens? Is it possible I have a bad copy? Thanks in advance!
I am also using XE4 with this lens, I meet the same problem as you, the motor noise is ok when comparing with the 27mm f2.8 which also uses a DC motor. Also when in AFC mode the new 56mm focus breathing is crazy, while my old 27mm has none focus breathing… set the camera in AFS can avoid this but this means basically you cannot shot moving target… I am considering returning the lens…
@@Ghhrjovi Thanks for sharing - this probably means we have compatibility issue with the X-E4? I am also very likely to return the lens - it is sad because otherwise the image quality is great and I have been waiting for this lens for a long time...
As a 56mm MKI user, my main reason for upgrading would be the autofocus system. While I understand it’s not the same motor as the recent lens replacements, does it do a better job at acquiring focus and holding focus while using AF-C focus mode. The old can not be trusted and I am forced to use AF-S.
I got the lens on Sep/30, to be honest I am not happy with it, the DC motor is way too noisy for any video work, focus breathing is terrible in AFC mode! Motor constantly twitching make half of the photo unusable… I have to shot in AFS mode to avoid this… and I found a weird auto focus bug, when focusing in the same area(usually happen in low contrast condition), horizontal shot can focus and vertical shot cannot, this is so annoying…… I am using XE4 btw, could Fuji test and fix this bug?
Fujifilm is staying true to the spirit of photography. Love it.
It is a winner for an x-photographer. Thank you FUJIFILM :) Can't wait to get mine.
Looks and sounds incredible, cannot wait to try one out 😀
Looks amazing

let's talk about the elephant in the room,......is it a low light or a fast prime?... if it's a low light, what is the actual dof...F4?
Why not use LM like 33 LM WR? its blazingly fast n silent
I am very worry about the AF speed, you can see they've avoid talking about it.
@@pennyfan13 the upgrade is only more close af + WR 🥲🥲
@@motogansphoto Kevin Mullins said it is as snappy as his 18mm f1.4...which is too good to be true.
It's either to keep the cost low or the size as small as possible I guess.
Because the LM would struggle moving those 8 elements fast enough
A flat sharpness-obsessed lens with no character... what a tragedy this brand has become -_-
