Wow, very nice and complete review. Thank you! With a little spark of AI this camera would be amazing - probably still not worth the full 2000$ original price but you got the point I guess. I hope that some fellow hackers and modders will be interested enough, now that the price is finally accessible, to fully exploit this device and its potential.
@@DavisMakesGames ambient noise is one of those problems that you always think you can fix, but unless you get actual noise isolation you wont get anything that sounds good by itself (from my experience). I dont want to be that guy if you have already tried this but it works in my mind at least, with just a few seconds of room audio in audacity (or other audio software), you should be able to easily remove ambient hum/buzz. im in no way a sound/audio guy but i have tried it on a few things in the past and was at least serviceable.
It was an interesting concept, and one of those things I'm glad that actually got made for the uniqueness and weird story years later, but the images just don't hold up to the promises. Looks sorta fun to shoot with though even if it's not, in the end, all that good.
It is unfortunately out of sync in areas because the HEVC format my camera uses does not play nice with my video editor for some reason. After editing all the video clips, I had to go back and sync the audio to mouth movements in the video but I apologize for it being off

Your videos are always explained really clearly and entertaining to watch 👍 And the background noise adds an asmr vibe.
this video appear as if it's ten years old.
unfortunately I can't afford a new pro-grade camera, hence using one about a decade old
Basically a bad iPhone but it only takes photos
Looking forward to the vid, but a better mic or basic lav mic would improve the "video quality"
Bought a new camera with a nice microphone (Sony NEX-VG20) but the ambient noise it picks up is rather unfortunate. Have been looking into a lav.

What a mad design

Definitely a neat party trick. Shown it to a few people and they've all been utterly amazed by the hardware (but not the photos).
its 130$ new on amazon
Still kinda interested in buying, it's just so uncommon
They're quite easy to find on eBay brand new (in the US at least). That is where I got mine
32:51 looks like Samsungs app ExpertRAW, badly stitched together.
Didn't know about Expert RAW, looked up some sample images. Does look a little rough.
Is the sound out of sync an artistic choice?
i was just thinking the same
