Good endings.. bad endings.. either way, Riven has the best endings to any game.
This game is amazing.
If you think about it, the bad endings where Gehn shoots the player are no better than the one where he shoots Atrus at the Fissure, because once Gehn finds Atrus's journal on the player's corpse, he'll know exactly how to get Atrus to come to Riven with a real Linking Book.

Hope that they will kept this bad end for the remake in progress.
I always forgot to release the stopper first before the glass breaks through.
God I love the educated well mannered well spoken villain who can get violent at any moment.
Also releasing Gehn while in the Moeity age. Another humorously bad ending.
You missed an ending, BTW. Capture Gehn and then release him while in the new age the rebels are hiding in....

@@slbagwell There's also 1 more ending (kind of cheating) if you reload game from the very beginning, enter the combo you got later in the game for the telescope and open the fissure. You just fall right into it, Atrus doesn't even appear at all.

Also go to the rebel age, without capturing Gehn, and use the prison book...
I also remember how frustrating it was...until I realized it is a GAME!!!
My gosh!!! I remember playing this game in the early 2000s. I bought the DVD out of nostalgia, but it won't run on Windows 10 or 11!!! It was was designed for Windows 95 I guess?? I might have to eBay to find an old computer ..crap
If you have a Steam or GOG account you can get it off one of those. Or, you can check on ebay or somewhere...Cyan came out with anniversary edition DVD's a few years back that play on windows 10. I'm guessing you can find some available still if you look around.
You can also wait for the remake of Riven ! It's in development.
