Not many people know what the song is really about, not even many Muse fans. Matt has said (on one occasion about 22 years ago) that the song is about admiring how a child can radiate happiness. "Everything about you resonates happiness". Just pure joy and bliss, without having to worry about anything, without any adult responsibilites, without having been exposed to stuff in life yet. And he said that he misses that feeling of being a child and would want to experience it again as an adult. "Everything about you is so easy to love, they're watching you from above" literally means adults looking down at children and loving them. "Everything about you is how I'd wanna be, your freedom comes naturally". A child can be completely in the moment, completely free, and be happy. And Matt envies that. "Everything about you pains my envying". He wants that for himself. "Give me all the peace and joy in your mind, I want the peace and joy in your mind". We've all had that when we were kids, but we grew out of it slowly. We can remember things from our childhood, but none of us really remember what it felt like being a child and what that carefree state of mind was like. "Your soul can't hate anything". A child is incapable of hating anything or anyone the same way adults are. If something hurts a child, they might cry for a minute, but they will forget it in an instant and go on living their blissful, happy existence without growing to hate it. Another interesting thing is that the background synth track is pretty much stolen from the theme music to a 1992 kids video game called Top Gear for the Super Nintendo (not that anyone ever sued Matt over it). Literally a game for kids. And a third interesting fact: In the early 2000's, they used to play this song live all the time with those huge balloons unleashed upon the audience about halfway through the song. Those balloons are literally something that kids would go crazy over, not adults, because adults don't care about balloons. Kids would jump up and down out of joy if they had balloons like that. But so did the audience. For a brief moment, the people in the audience got to feel that bliss and joy of being a child, lost in the present moment. All in all, it's a song about kids! :D
It is also about how many adults want to consume that purity. Maybe it wasn't on purpose but adults who keep their purity get preyed on by so many jealous ppl.
Freaking heck you crazies. They're bursting with so much energy in their early 2000s live shows, it's freaking infectious. Whenever I watch one I feel like I could run a mile in a minute.
This was recored 9 years ago approximately 350 miles away from where I am now, I've seen this video hundreds of times before and yet every time I watch it sends chills down my spine! Everyone who was there for that concert had the most incredible experience and I will envy them for ever. TUUUUUUUNE!!!
I love this song and I love MUSE.. the band has always fun doing live shows and they always put so much energy and feeling into it.. the vibe in the crowd and even in the air is incredible. I really admire that.. :)
when you say you want to be famous everybody tells you it's a hard life, but when you can do a concert like this you know you'd do everything for it, everything about this it's how i wanna be
I like how they start off with the song. I even think it's better than the studio version. It's starts off calm, then goes BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SYNTHESIZERS, DRUMS, BASSLINE, AND GUITAR = TOTAL BLISS. WHAT MORE CAN YOU GET FROM THIS LIVE VERSION????? It's simply a rare jewel.
The DVD is TOTALLY WORTH IT, AND THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. Every song in the set list is played exquisitely and much more better than the studio version. Take a look at Bliss! It's start in the live version changes everything that the studio version has done. It makes much more impact as it goes all out with the synthesizers, guitar, bass, and drums from which it came from as an unexpected calm, steady intro.
its such a shame that muse have gone down hill since this was filmed, i mean 'i belong to you' and 'neutron star collision don';t sent shivers down your spine like this
I'm sitting in front of my computer watching a performance thousands of miles (or kilometers) away from the site of this performance... and the amount of energy I get from it is phenomonal... I wondered how the live people at this survived...
Things like this are just so great I wonder if Muse is just a completely awsome figment of my imagination. Okay...I little dramatic but still. Muse forever!!!
@drummer1269 i agree when you talk about this muse, cant get any better, however neutron star collision..... that goes with popular modern music in my opinion, its sad how much they have changed
Amazing. Pure musical genius. That poor drum set! But still amazing. Tear worthy even. Gorgeous. No words can describe it! Love it, that's all that matters :D

Man what a great comment. Thank you. And of course, all hail Muse, what a band..
It is also about how many adults want to consume that purity.
Maybe it wasn't on purpose but adults who keep their purity get preyed on by so many jealous ppl.
I hate when people are saying, that Matt and God are the same person! Like yes, he's really good, but still he is not Matt!
That is intense.
Bliss, album version awesome but when it's live it takes it to whole other level.
Never have I felt the pure and raw emotion of a band so much in one song
This was the concert in 2001 that introduce me to this band, amazing skills and emotion.
This is what happiness looks like!
just perfection
Alessia 98 bliss
This is the fucking's coldplay's clocks 2:42
Clocks has been released after bliss
@@nutriarider352 for ur information, Bliss came out on 2001, clocks came out on 2002 🤷
@nutriarider352 it's not even the same progression you dope. It's literally just arpeggios in the same time signature as clocks 🙄 Epic fail comment
everything about muse is so easy to love
Olá
4:50 Muse knew they're living their dream as a band so they just had to break everything to celebrate it.
Freaking heck you crazies. They're bursting with so much energy in their early 2000s live shows, it's freaking infectious. Whenever I watch one I feel like I could run a mile in a minute.
lol matt jumps and dom while chris pushes the kit over!! Haha! They have so much fun when theyre performing, great to watch!!! :D

3:38 Love this moment xD
High quality is relative when it was filmed with a potato but still looks beautiful
iKiel2012 It's actually more than 13 fps and that's already impressive
this is the best performance of bliss live i have heard!!
I love Hullabaloo. Energizes me!!!
Bliss is one of my favorite songs
this is how you end a show. I really missed this badass Muse. :'(
As the most quiet member, it's fun to see Chris being chaotic in his younger days on stage. The way he carried Matt makes me laugh so hard 😂
I love this song and I love MUSE.. the band has always fun doing live shows and they always put so much energy and feeling into it.. the vibe in the crowd and even in the air is incredible. I really admire that.. :)
i love how he plays the solo and then just starts to crush the balloons.
for only 360p, this is the highest quality band i've ever seen!
No alcanzan las palabras para describir lo que expresan, gracias totales
french audiance is amazing
the bass in this is just thumpin man those variations in the chorus are soooo good
I've never seen them so happy. Especially Christopher :P. That's what bliss is all about, right?
i think this was probably one of their best songs performed live and the guitar solo was perfect
when you say you want to be famous everybody tells you it's a hard life, but when you can do a concert like this you know you'd do everything for it, everything about this it's how i wanna be
could some one make an audio file of this video, this is my favorite version of bliss, it's so..... GREAT!!!
PURE ENERGY AND ECSTASY!!!
how can you NOT love this?! i've got goosebumps, i'm sweating like a prostitute in a church and my heart is racing. Dude, i love muse!
This proves originality isn't dead!!!
I like how they start off with the song. I even think it's better than the studio version. i love how they completely destroy the stage when they're done! muse is the best!
One of the best Muse songs, so glad they've been playing it and also MOTP in gigs this year :D
Why i didnt born in that era
That show was perfect
You don´t know what living means untill you have been to a muse concert
3:37 = Bliss, right there.
The way this song kicks in is amazing
The DVD is TOTALLY WORTH IT, AND THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. Every song in the set list is played exquisitely and much more better than the studio version. Take a look at Bliss! It's start in the live version changes everything that the studio version has done. the most incredible thing about this performance is the bass pedal staying on the bass drum at the end!!
Best band of the last 10 years!!!
God freaking bless Muse!!!
Such an amazing performance :) I love how Matt goes mad at the end and jumps on Chris, aswell as Dom's drum kit lmao they are true gods :D
3:42, bass is less sharp than guitar
this one's wonderful - I love the end and that guitar solo, improvising...
its such a shame that muse have gone down hill since this was filmed, i mean 'i belong to you' and 'neutron star collision don';t sent shivers down your spine like this
only muse could do that, thata why we love them!!!
wish they threw this in setlists more often today, but all in all can't complain, at least I get to see them live!
If anyone asks you why muse has won all there live band awards... Just simply show them this video.
Muse........ Fucking awesome.....
@drummer1269 I cried with happiness when i watched them live for the first time, they are so brilliantxx
I watch this daily...and no I'm not kidding
saw them at the o2 last night, first time in six years. jesus it was bad. watching this to cleanse my soul.
farroj04 saw them too and thought it was one of the best performances ive seen
never will we see MUSE this raw and epic again...so unfortunate that I didn't know them back in the early 2000s when they were still this insane :((((
if god can listen to music , Muse would be his favourite band. !
Muse, radiohead and coldplay in that order
taken from the best live dvd ever.....
the final riff is awsome!
Okay, time to finish the chorus of this s- OH WAIT A BALLOON
A brilliant song one of my faves
When God hears them play this song he says "but I already gave you all the bliss in the world, how else would you be so awesome?!"
I'm sitting in front of my computer watching a performance thousands of miles (or kilometers) away from the site of this performance... and the amount of energy I get from it is phenomonal... I wondered how the live people at this survived...
oh man the atmosphere at that place must have been electric.
That's how you finish a concert.
muse is a pretty good band....
HAHA UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR
THEY ARE THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN ON A STAGE
Doctor says you have 6 minutes to live, ok I already know what to listen to.
That'll be the end of that Drum Kit then... LOL. What a fucking great performance, I've never seen anything like it, it was just totally mental!!!
He still is and always will be.
BLISS!!!!!!! gotta love it!
This just cheers my soul.
And that´s a true rock band my students.!
Things like this are just so great I wonder if Muse is just a completely awsome figment of my imagination.
Okay...I little dramatic but still. Muse forever!!!

I fucking came while watching and listening to this for the first time. Now, 2 years later, i haven't changed underwear!
@drummer1269 i agree when you talk about this muse, cant get any better, however neutron star collision..... that goes with popular modern music in my opinion, its sad how much they have changed
aww dang it, that was our first song!
If there is a God, this is the music he listens to!
@CliffRichardsPissSac I completely agree with you. Very true, well said.
Muse deserve best band in the universe
they`re so crazy... love them^^
Muse, my love.
I'd say Citizen Erased is the best song of this decade. Live or not. And one of the 10 best songs of all time.
One of those moments when it seems like the stage can't contain Matt.
A man of Bellamy's mind should not be limited to mere mortality.
amazing!!!!!!!!!! muse muse muse muse muse muse muse muse forever!!!!!!!!!!
@rolisac matt is one of the best live vocalists around the world, his improvisation and madness make it unique! ♥ ♥
