I live in Brisbane & have 200 orchids in a shade house facing north. I can cover it when there’s heavy rain. Just a thought, could you buy a portable greenhouse which is plastic frame covered with shadecloth?You’d have lots of shelves for your orchids. They would be in filtered sunlight & safe from beetles.
Hi Roslyn Sadly for me, the space is way too small for a greenhouse. It is only 2.1m deep and 2.6m wide, at the rectangle section. The narrow annex is only 1.1m wide past the post, with an 85cm width at the vertical post. Plus, my husband also uses the space outside for work. So while I would love a greenhouse, I cannot make it fit in the space with the whack-a-doodle dimensions, shape, and multiple users. I am very sad about this however.
