So on point! I wish I’d splurged on hair and makeup for my competitions early on. Looks so much more professional and helped me win my first preliminary by having the right look.

This is so helpful for me rn, I’m budgeting out my plan for NAM states next year as I’m gonna be funding it entirely on my own on a teenagers salary so it’s good to know where to put my (very little) money. Question...when you say splurge on the headshots, how much are we talking about here?
Headshots can cost anywhere from $300-$1200. Depending on the photographer, h/m artist, and if wardrobe is included.

What brand of self tanners do you use?
I went the cheap way for a pageant and did a self tanner but it rubbed off on my clothes and now im having to pay the dry cleaning costs down the road. Next time i'll just splurge the extra 40 bucks on the spray tan.
No matter what you use for a tanner, there will be risk of it rubbing off. Even if you get sprayed in person. I like to use Bondi sands. I've also used st moritz and st tropez :D

I am competing for miss Connecticut the miss America system they do have red carpet gown don’t have swim suit I hope to miss USA system in a few years after I compete in this miss America system due to the fact that I’m not in college yet and have certain residency requirements that’s why I’m competing in Miss ct scholarship prior to miss ct USA . So I’m wondering should I buy resale everything for both pageants ? As in miss America and miss USA system ? I’m planning on doing both systems through out my future and present!
