Cool review and a nice pick. For me this album was kinda a slow burn. What I mean is that it took a little time/another listen for it to really click even tho I still liked it on first listen. And I think it's because of its moody and gloomy sound that it was heavy on my first listen. But like I said, it got better with a 2nd and more listens. Really underappreciated and a worthy follow-up to Soul Food imo. Dope album. No bad songs imo One thing I would've added to this album would've been the song Backyard Mississippi featuring Goodie Mob from 8Ball's Lost album from the same year. Since that song is light and vibrant sounding, I think it would've been a nice "breath of fresh air" for this album My fave songs: Fly Away, Greeny Green, Black Ice, Inshallah, Beautiful Skin and the title track
That’s actually a great take about that Eightball track, I’ve been looking for that vinyl forever! And I also totally feel how Goodie Mob even in general can be a slow burn, it didn’t totally click for me when I was initially introduced to them but once I heard Soul Food front to back a handful of times I was hooked

RIP Rico Wade
Criminally underrated album. Still Standing and Black Ice were my favourite songs on this one
