Yeah, when Rose said Cid saved her as the flashy bandit slayer, Cid got confused because he remembers saving a theriatrope princess not a human princess. Yukihime telling him about her past was his 'aha' moment of where that memory of saving a theriotrope came from. Cid did leave a confession to Beta last episode and he tells her to figure it out, he just didn't think it would be figured out so soon. The 'code' is Japanese language (romaji, kanji and katakana) which doesn't exist in their world and why Beta mistakes it for a code. The 'typewriter' at start of episode where you said they were putting already written papers looks like an old style decryption machine (like Ultra machine from WW2) Eta is using and the papers she's putting in have the code written on them. This concluded arc is the trope of an eminence in shadow who betrays his organization in order to save it. His plan as mentioned last episode was to replace Mutsugoshi but they'd still run the new company. He didn't consider they could save the original company by using the gold withdrawn to cover deposits. In the light novel, he planned to just give them the solution to the 'code' if they can't figure it out after awhile and they'd forgive him over his 'betrayal' like they do here. Cid isn't stupid, he just ad-libs/half-asses anything (like money) that isn't part of his dream.
Cid did actually write down his plan and the location of the gold, its just that he underestimates how good the 7 Shadows actually are, because most of their accomplishments they tell him about he thinks are just a part of the play. He thought they'd decipher it later, and that he could then act like he told them but they just weren't fast enough with deciphering it. The notes are actually written in Japanese so its a bit difficult to tell for non-japanese people that its actually what he wrote.
Ohhh okay. I thought he gave her that thing in 5 languages he was writing at the time. There's were ingredients or groceries on it. I guess he handed her a different page lol. Still funny.
@@TheGenreVerse I'm sure its the same text as it was when he gave it to Beta. I think they just wrote it down in Japanese instead of a actual cypher with roman letters so they can "show, not tell" for the japanese audience, but we miss out because of it. If we were able to read Japanese we would've been able to tell what he wrote in the previous episode when he gave the note to Beta. Or maybe the cypher thing was just bullshit and Cid was bigging himself up lol. Its the problem with professional translations, unlike Fan translations, professionals are unwilling to add editor/translator notes to explain certain concepts or things. Eminence's translators are really good and they put in work to translate the jokes as well as they can but there are just limitations to what they're able to do. Like, for example, when Gettan was pointing towards Yukime in this episode, in English they wrote "Be... near t... her...", going the misunderstood words route . But in Japanese he was saying something and then unable to finish his sentence, he was going to end with "Yukime" but was only able to get out "Yuki" which is Japanese for "Snow". Its A+ on effort for translation but its not actually what was being said.
@@TheGenreVerseThe note that Eta deciphered was in 5 languages. In the manga he actually wrote down a letter for shadow garden and give it to Beta. However, he wasn't expecting them to decipher the letter so soon and he did it because he wanted to flex on the girls.
i'd share some tidbits but the important ones have already been covered, 3 minor things i could mention are that 1. During the fight with Gettan it is mentioned that Cid better at bare-handed martial arts rather than the sword, 2. the thing Delta found we wont be getting into until presumably season 3, and 3. For some more context on the Yukime thing, Delta killing Juggernaut has cleared up Lawless City perfectly for Yukime, making her the only ruler there. But thats all, great reaction.
Thanks for the morning cheer. and I love how Delta repeating Shadows words of the Hush-Hush Secret Mission, yet the rest of the girls are like "you need to speak more proper. He would never use those words."
Further note: What Gettan was saying before he died was hoping Yukime for a good life while pointing at her. However, Cid understood it as “beneath the snow” because her name Yuki means snow. That’s why he kept digging the snow where Gettan pointed.
Actually Cid is crazy rich if you see... whole Mitsugoshi company is under him technically but bro doesn't even realise that💀and the most important thing is bro jumps major antagonists thinking they are some bandit in his game ☠️🤣😭
Clarification of this chapter Shadow's plan was to destroy the two companies and create a new one and invite Alpha and the others but what he did not know is that they were going to take his gold. Oh, and they didn't tell Him that they were going to take the coins out of the stash because they thought that He was the one who had collected all that gold so that they could use it in their bank and thus avoid bankruptcy. Ah, the end of the chapter is easy to explain because we remember that before he died, Gettan pointed to the snow. with his hand towards where Yukime was, and Shadow thought he was pointing to where the gold coins were. buried in the snow but in reality Gettan was referring to the fact that he left his precious treasure that was Yukime in his hands so that he could take care of her better than what he could not do for her, of course that is why in the end we see how Sombra searches in snow the coins next to Delta. Without a doubt epic chapter 🫶 PS: Shadow flees from the place when he does not find the coins and leaves Adelta searching in the snow because he thought they would be angry with him and he leaves for a long time until Alpha and the others' anger goes away, but in reality what What he didn't know was that they were happy to the point of crying for him for collecting so much gold and he didn't know it ending of the movie 🥳💚👍
letter was decoded correctly and written the way it was meant to, just he didn't think they would decode it this fast, he expected them to decode it after he gets hes gold away from there
Also in th-cam.com/video/6t-BcaBfbO8/w-d-xo.html 1:56 - 4:35 is the best interpretation of last episode with Alpha, and also the most hilarious. I just realized, is he now going to Yukime or is he going somewhere way different for the rest of the season?
The item found was likely the hidden Cult lab that doesn't take precedence until 2-3 other story arcs later. Still have Oriana Kingdom and Past the Black Rose story arcs before New Witch of Calamity (not actual arc names).
Thanks a lot for the reaction again, you are as usual quite early with the video, and although there isn't much to add to the episode, I will still leave some takes from the light novels and I hope you find them interesting -The entire John Smith vs Gettan fight was cut, but basically Cid was so mad that he decided not to use the strings for Gettan and rather beat the shit out of him with his bare hands. -Cid is a truly insane fighter. His magic techniques are top notch, of course, but leaving magic aside, his swordsmanship is "ordinary". Back in his other world he learned a lot of martial arts, like Batman level, and focused on hand to hand combat because as a normal civilian he can't go around with a sword or something like that. So he is actually better at hand to hand than with a sword. His swordsmanship is ordinary, the core of the shadow garden style focuses on everything but the sword, making them be able to fight with extreme versatility. -When Alpha is working, she is a cool headed boss, somehow imitating Cid, as he acts as a mighty ruler everytime he has the shadow outfit on, but when he isn't, he is a lot more relaxed (she still respects him and I'm not talking about his Mob character) so in the kage jitsu episodes, you can see how she goes with the jokes, for example when beta asked her to recreate the scene where Cid was being tortured as a Mob and this time when she recreated how depressed she was in the episode. -Some people hate Alpha because she "acts too conceited" but that's just her boss character, she believes the 7 shades are a family and often looks at them with Nostalgia and is always grateful to Cid for giving her a family. That's all, not much to add in this episode, hope you are enjoying this second season and the little details that I gave you, thanks for the reaction again!!
I think it was a reference to the Enigma machine. A german enciphering device that they used to encode their most secret transmissions in WWII. Dude, I need one LN volume where the main villain is Santa Claus the Evil Demon Lord becuase that would be some next level foreshadowing lmao. Btw the last episode when he mentioned that sensei stuff or whatever. He did listen, kind of. He says that he lost interest halfway through the conversation if I do remember it correctly. He does still pick up on certain stuff though. That is why he can still bullshit stuff based on the information given by the characters like in the moments when he gets the weekly reports from shadow garden. What I believe is that Cid probably just thinks of this as the boring filler part of the story with boring exposition so he only takes in a few sentences and words while ingnoring like 50% hence why he probably still believes it is all a game.
I didn't expect the reverse big brain play that was accidentally made by shadow. Not only does the "plan" ruined their competitor, the people will now trust their bank even more than the others, their brand, even if another company decided to do the same.
