Absolutely choice upgrade. Need that for the old n70! I think both the back brakes & especially the hand brake need a look when you're towing. Years back when I had Landy Discovery x 2 the hand brakes on them were SOLID. If only the rest of the Disco hung together 😂. Thanks team this is a valuable ep! 👌💪✌️
Surprised at the use of DOT3, and very good by Bendix for retaining the standard master cylinder. I remember using Bendix brakes in the early 70s, when they were regarded as the best available in Aus. Looks like they are now reviving that status after being ordinary for a very long time.
Great video Maca and TJ You boys made me laugh the start of the video with TJ driving up and down the road making out he can not stop. Now you have no excuses to not stop with those Bendix brakes. Hey the next thing you boys should invest is a pair of safety boots it’s to late when you drop something on your toes. I know everyone loves wearing Thongs but they ain’t fantastic when you drop something on your feet when working

macca, just like you i’ve got no clue but have learnt that the bigger the brake disc is doesn’t mean the more stopping power it usually means better heat dissipation so brake fade takes longer to occur. What does impact stopping power is the size of the caliper and how many pots it has along with the size of the brake pad. Correct me if i’m wrong also learning lol
Bigger rotors do increase stopping power. The friction on the rotor is being applied further out from the axle, giving it more torque, increasing the effective stopping power. I've put bigger rotors on my bike while keeping the same callipers and pads and it has resulted in a significant increase in braking power. The fact that with cars bigger rotors usually mean bigger pads and a larger braking surface is a double whammy for stopping power.

with all the upgrades made to the engineering of the vehicle, do other safety things like how the ABS responds in a lock up, or the emergency Air-bags and the timing of deployment, need investigating? Just curious cause i'm not much of a shed'er myself
Did the kit change the peddle feel much? At work we have been fitting the terrain tamer kit (looks to be the same) but the peddle feel just seems off. the peddle doesn't fall to the floor but it continues to fall almost as if there was a leak.
Is the ssm booster upgrade that bad. I have my car due soon and I didn't opt for brake upgrade. Only booster. Hoping not to spend more money on my car.

I had the Toyota dealer install my Terrain Tamer booster and brake upgrade and the couldn't get it right, had to take it to terrain tamer.

Why use dot 3? dot 4 is rated for higher temp
If your brakes aren't getting hot enough for DOT4, DOT3 lasts longer before needing to be replaced due to moisture absorption.
