The suits at riot saw that spirit blossom was successful and asked for that, but again. A dating sim worked really well for the story SB was trying to tell, but it doesn’t work for anything and everything. This event just should’ve been a round of stories on universe tied to in-game unlockables or something, or whatever burning tides did (I only started playing a year ago so I wasn’t there for that event)
Spirit Blossom is also somewhat non-canon as it's closer to a skinline universe to the Runeterra Canon. If your character is somewhat different in another universe its ok, if its in the canon timeline as Sentinels is supposed to be that's problematic.

I've gone 3/0/23 on Nautilus, most damage taken by huge margin, roughly tied for second highest damage dealt, high vision and crowd control score yet still only S-. Next day I get an S while playing Karma with about the same grace as a pug on a skateboard.
I believe that supports grade also depends on how your adc did that game? It's quite weird but when I do stupidly well on say Pyke, and my adc doesn't, I'll only get an a+ or s-, but if I do worse and my adc does better, I'll get an s+
I wonder how much supports get ranked on using "supportive spells." Do heals and shields have more weight in your score if you're in the support position? Things like number of pinks and wards killed might also factor heavily.
Nothing is confirmed because Riot doesn't want people to know but the way I see it, they compare your stats against others playing the same champ in the same role. So if you're playing a highly contested champ in their most popular role, it'll be harder to get an S or S+. Meanwhile, if you're playing a less popular character for that role or an off-meta pick it'll be easier to get S. I can only support this via my own experience obviously but for example, I continued to play Quinn ADC rather than Top for a long time and found it extremely easy to get S ranks, meanwhile when I take her Top and end the game with a score and farm comparable to my ADC games relative to game-length, I might get S- at best. But, otherwise, I think they value kills less than other stats when determining grade. From what I can tell... Farm, objective participation, vision, and map movement all get higher grades than kills. So like... If you're a Nasus, don't just stay Top after taking Tier 2 tower, head Bot and take their towers too. If you're a support, try to maximize gold earned and Vision Score wherever possible. If your ADC backs before you, freeze the lane outside of tower range and last hit. Finish your Support quest as soon as possible each game. If you're an ADC, farm... Farm like your life depended on it and rotate for objectives whenever possible. These are things that I've noticed get me higher grades. Otherwise, just don't die too much.

I don't want to defend the way they are writing the characters in their little VN like it is particularly good, but Gwen is definitely my favourite character in it. The royal gooffiness she gets from being the Joy of Isolde contrasts strongly with the tone of the rest and I like it a lot. I don't know her lore well enough to consider my opinion very pertinent, but maybe take this as her origin story? First she comes to Runeterra, being all joyous and careless, and then once she's joinced the Sentinels she progressively understands the importance of the situation and becomes that badass shonen determined fighter she is in the game.

After finishing the ruination storyline I feel like "eh". The Demacia storyline aligns okay with the ending, kind of, but otherwise it's mostly eh for me. Feels like they just cared more about making making thresh not a skull anymore and having a few running gags. Lore wise I'd like to see what happens to the recruited sentinel folks afterwards. Like Graves meeting up with TF while carrying sentinel gear and what not.
you are my inspiration to take a champion to a lane you usually dont see them. I got to mastery 6 on mordekaiser by bringing him as the supportive parent morde as i call it. just bring him top and if they wanna towerdive your adc you can smack them around and ult one of them, usually the biggest threat
At about 4 min in you push the lane out after getting a kill but if you thinned it slightly and let it freeze in front of your turret you could deny more farm and exp because more than one wave will die before he returns
I feel like the ranking system compares you to the best average of that character in that lane. My evidence to my theory is that I never got an S playing Sett top despite playing multiple games going 15/1/12 and shit like that but the moment I starting playing Sett Mid or ADC I got S's. Same thing with Shyvana, never get an S in jungle but I bring her top and suddenly I start getting S's. Also P.S. Full Crit Sett with galeforce ADC or Mid is super fun and I encourage more people to play it.
to be fair at the very least for thresh/supporty bois top lane the rating system breaks and you can int lane and get an S+ i don't think it expects or knows how to handle the whole, this champions normally gets 20 cs from relic shield and that's it, when it compares you

So viego family wrote every x time a letter for him to remember his life; vladimir is emophilist and can controll the blood so he could have possible saved viego life controlling his blood ceels and dividing them from the poison)
@@f4iryrot Only if I do sustained fights against someone WITH Conq (Sett), but harassing with E > Grasp feels great, can even get a second proc sometimes before their conqueror stacks, but it does depend on the champ. (Her AP Ratios are also not the best in the world and are very lategame focused so I think outside of the Omnivamp Conqueror can be a little overrated. That said it definitely DOES damage and Deathcap is viable on her, but Grasp early gives more, faster and earlier imo).
Just to maybe soften things down, the in-game Gwen could be post event story? (Not to spoil too much) but through the event, she has a lot of stuff to deal with and process and it could be that the in-game voice lines and personality, matches her after she's precessed the event and is more on her as a developed character. It's hard to say without saying too much that you may have not seen yet

A couple days ago I've played GP top, going 9/4/7, but destroyed the enemy Morde and pretty much kill most of the enemies solo because I was fed, but ended up losing because of bad teammates. Not exactly particularly familiar with her, but Gwen was the best part about ruination imo, as qualified a statement as that might be. She was lighthearted and optimistic, but it didnt feel like she was the butt of the joke like with pyke or olaf or graves or riven/irellia (or rengar, or maybe lucian... man, not many of them got cool moments did they?). She was tonal relief more than comic relief if that makes sense, and from what I gathered playing her (which isnt much) optimism and naivete is certainly "on model" for her.
You are totally wrong about minions not giving as much mastery score. I find that cs is the easiest was to get S- and S scores. I even had games where I had scores like 8/4/6 or something like that getting S because I had over 10 cs/min and a bit of objective damage.

(you will, though, never be a plat player that just does nothing but play normals because people above gold rarely ever play normals and you will also never play normals with players who offer enough of a challenge to improve your skill in return). you have to face gold players to be gold, beating bronzes is easy. and if you are good you will especially crave a challenge. challenger players don’t play normals and stomp kids all day because it’s boring. ranked is the challenge they are looking for, which is more fun anyway. if you are looking for a challenge play ranked and figure out where you lie on the leaderboard. the argument “i beat a plat or gold player in a normal” also makes no sense. plenty of people don’t try in normals, and ESPECIALLY better players who know normals don’t matter so they play entirely for fun. if you are afraid to play ranked i would remind you it’s a video game who gives a shit. done with rant

What pisses me off about the event: no hecarim, no kalista betrayal. The only "RUINED" are the ruined skins and tresh. Ofc we have vex and viego, even Yorick for like what, 1 second. It was again just for marketing. Not gonna lie, it was a cool story that got you in the game, but it felt again like they wanted to sell stuff (in an event for which pass you need to pay money for..). So many important parts of the ruined story were just left out, it's just sad.
fyi, what you said about a different writer is true. The lore team wrote gwen’s voicelines, story, character, all of the good stuff. The entire Rise of the Sentinels event was written by the skin team, NOT the lore team. This is why everything feels so weird and out of character and ultimately why the minor details of the event were declared non canon.

@@f4iryrot Only if I do sustained fights against someone WITH Conq (Sett), but harassing with E > Grasp feels great, can even get a second proc sometimes before their conqueror stacks, but it does depend on the champ.
(Her AP Ratios are also not the best in the world and are very lategame focused so I think outside of the Omnivamp Conqueror can be a little overrated. That said it definitely DOES damage and Deathcap is viable on her, but Grasp early gives more, faster and earlier imo).

Just to maybe soften things down, the in-game Gwen could be post event story? (Not to spoil too much) but through the event, she has a lot of stuff to deal with and process and it could be that the in-game voice lines and personality, matches her after she's precessed the event and is more on her as a developed character. It's hard to say without saying too much that you may have not seen yet

Didn't know that one of my favourite league content creators was also from the UK, cool.
Not exactly particularly familiar with her, but Gwen was the best part about ruination imo, as qualified a statement as that might be. She was lighthearted and optimistic, but it didnt feel like she was the butt of the joke like with pyke or olaf or graves or riven/irellia (or rengar, or maybe lucian... man, not many of them got cool moments did they?). She was tonal relief more than comic relief if that makes sense, and from what I gathered playing her (which isnt much) optimism and naivete is certainly "on model" for her.
As a Jax main, I felt the pain of the lore mess a long time ago.

You are totally wrong about minions not giving as much mastery score. I find that cs is the easiest was to get S- and S scores. I even had games where I had scores like 8/4/6 or something like that getting S because I had over 10 cs/min and a bit of objective damage.
I think I just meant on Gwen. For some reason top/jungle Gwen just didn't get me S ranks, but mid Gwen suddenly mass-produces me S ranks.
@@CryoBeat similar thing happened to me too. I played many kayle games(when she was newly reworked) ıf two similar games, even my cs was almost the same in one game ı was mid in another one ı was solo. I got an s in mid one but even ı my kda was slightly better ıt didint give me an s for solo.

i’m confused about why people don’t play ranked. it’s just a reflection of how good you are, so wouldn’t you like to know? it’s up to you whether your LP and elo matters or not. in ranked people are trying to win, and in normals you are trying to win too. and the argument that people flame more in ranked is just false. it’s all flame, everywhere but aram and urf. if you have the skill of a plat player but all you play are normals you’d always be shit talked because your elo says silver or bronze. (you will, though, never be a plat player that just does nothing but play normals because people above gold rarely ever play normals and you will also never play normals with players who offer enough of a challenge to improve your skill in return). you have to face gold players to be gold, beating bronzes is easy. and if you are good you will especially crave a challenge. challenger players don’t play normals and stomp kids all day because it’s boring. ranked is the challenge they are looking for, which is more fun anyway. if you are looking for a challenge play ranked and figure out where you lie on the leaderboard. the argument “i beat a plat or gold player in a normal” also makes no sense. plenty of people don’t try in normals, and ESPECIALLY better players who know normals don’t matter so they play entirely for fun. if you are afraid to play ranked i would remind you it’s a video game who gives a shit. done with rant

Fucking exactly. They say you're responsible for 50 percent of your games. But when you have 9 other people in a game statistics dont fcuking matter. A pro player (I think faker?) Said 40 percent is wins, 40 is less and 20 is on you. That's only 20 percent of the games you control.

What pisses me off about the event: no hecarim, no kalista betrayal. The only "RUINED" are the ruined skins and tresh. Ofc we have vex and viego, even Yorick for like what, 1 second. It was again just for marketing. Not gonna lie, it was a cool story that got you in the game, but it felt again like they wanted to sell stuff (in an event for which pass you need to pay money for..). So many important parts of the ruined story were just left out, it's just sad.

fyi, what you said about a different writer is true. The lore team wrote gwen’s voicelines, story, character, all of the good stuff. The entire Rise of the Sentinels event was written by the skin team, NOT the lore team. This is why everything feels so weird and out of character and ultimately why the minor details of the event were declared non canon.
