    I just had my barn micro grooved 2 weeks ago. The floor was grooved when poured 12 years ago, but has gotten polished up over the years. Has made a big difference, haven't heard hardly any slipping since.

    By the way I recently found out you don’t get a cut from ad revenue unless we watch at least 30 seconds of the ads before hitting the skip, I now watch all the ads and I hope everyone else does too! You deserve every thing you get from TH-cam!

    You are by far one of the best you tube creator in agriculture ! You express yourself very well, your images are always beautiful, you give a lot of information, the sound is well balanced and you look good! Ha yes, you also have the cleanest farm on earth! Bravo! Continu your good work ! i'm proud to be Canadian when i see it! You should teach our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau how to do it... especially in terms of the 'cleanliness' of his reputation and his financial transactions...because he, unlike you, is the shame of the country! ha!ha!

    I love your videos and the 10th Generations too. (I found you guys from the Hoof GP.) I am surprised there is no mention of Sonne Farms. That guy has great content and his dad is funny too! I love to watch the young guys working with their dads. It is an industry full of tradition that is important to pass down! Thank you for all you do and for filming it too! I can't get enough!

    From Oregon. Been watching your videos and find them very interesting. Some questions does your farm have a rat/rodent problem like seems to be in England? The organic dairies in this area store bulk feed outdoors but to be organic they have restrictions on use of rodenticides. England has people who manage with some pretty expensive air rifles. And, do you have a guy that comes out to work on your cows hooves? Never considered hoof health before the guy I’ve been watching is in Scotland. He is fun to watch and really enjoys his work. Thanks for the look into all you do to provide milk for your area. Very interesting!

    Thats funny how a cow stole a key,... lol... playful and curious for sure. another interesting video, that grove machine is wild, who ever knew it seems to me after watching countless farming videos, like 10th Generation, Larson Farms, Cole the Corn Star, Millennial Farmer, and a few others that farming seems like it's 10% planting, 10 % harvesting and 80% maintenance. perhaps i'm wrong, just my observation from what I see, I never farmed a day in my life so who knows, farmers have to be mechanics, Dr, Engineer, too; maker, carpenter and fabricators. interesting work, never a dull moment and everyday is different.

    Hi I was wondering if you saw the New Holland Tractor that is methane-powered. I also had an idea for you to collect that slurry and create your own power via biogas. I think it would dramatically increase productivity and will lower electrical bills and fuel bills.

    • @timothymbonham4453
      @timothymbonham4453 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but then they would have to buy chemical fertilizer for the fields, to replace the organic manure they use for fertilizer now. Plus the expense of building a biogas collection plant, and electric generators.
      Biogas generation of electricity seems currently to be economically sensible only where the inputs (manure) is free (or very cheap) -- when it's a waste product that you need to get rid of.

    The water is actually mostly to keep silica dust from flying up since it is very dangerous to breathe in and can cause silicosis. The blades on a scarifier are so cool, they tend to be diamond tipped.

    • @adrianklaver113
      @adrianklaver113 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It also serves to cool the blade as the diamond chips are bonded to the metal. If the blade is allowed to get hot the bonding will weaken and the blade will start shedding diamond chips. It also helps lubricate the cutting edge to reduce wear of the diamonds.

    • @natemillsap1023
      @natemillsap1023 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We just had the same machine groove for us and the guy said we would need water only if we didn’t like how dusty it got. we never hooked the water to it because we had good ventilation so the dust wasn’t a problem

  • @NRK1988
    @NRK1988 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So the water does help keep the blades cool but it's more so for the concrete dust. You wouldn't be able to breath in there because of how thick the concrete dust

  • @hornethunter9079
    @hornethunter9079 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The residual concrete slurry resulting from the grooving will reek havoc in the manure handling system should it solidify. Over time it can cure to a solid that's nearly as hard as poured concrete. Dispose of it separately and at an approved location.

    So if the moisture In some of the alfalfa your chopping is high and it goes in the plastic tube does it mold or combust?🌻

    • @mannsjm
      @mannsjm 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As the excess moisture comes out it "runs" or "seeps" resulting in a loss of nutrients and a potential for undesirable bacteria growth and some amount of spoilage.

      @brentreid7031 4 ปีที่แล้ว
