Just getting round to watching this video and your hair journey. Thanks so much for sharing and helping those with sisterlocs embrace and be more knowledgeable🤗🥰
Hey Tunisia, I have had sister locks since the end of 2015. My consultant worked with me at the workforce. This too is the best hair decision I ever made. Me too, soon as I got my press and curl, my hair would draw up and I lived in a humid area. Also, did you say plats?. I haven't heard that in a while. I was a loose natural since 1996. That was my last relaxer.
TFS! Absolutely loved learning about the story behind your decision. My mom used oil on my scalp/hair from when I was a child so when my loctician used/encouraged the use of oil from the start of my microlocs journey that was another reason we vibed 😊
Yes! It's hard for me to think of not using oils. I can understand perhaps from the beginning, but once the locs set I would think most people's hair would rebel without the extra conditioning and health benefits of oils. I feel overtime (long term) this can be bad advice. Especially when you consider how so many things we do impact the health of our hair and also the things we can avoid like lack of nutrition, pollution, climate elements, quality of water etc.
I am now 1 year and 2days into my Sisterlock Journey! Yes this is the BEST DECISION I'VE EVERRR MADE! I ONLY SPRITZ WITH WATER AND LIGHT OIL ON MY SCALP! Soon I'll be able to afford The I Am Melanin Magic! Lol!! I love my hair. How it feels...everything!
Congratulations! I'm excited for you. Please keep us posted on how you are doing. I'd love for you to make a shirt video and share with out channel. Much gratitude for showing up.
25mth on my diy microlocs only had them retired by someone else once. I did an emerald green color on a small front section & did a black rinse on the rest I love it!!. Love your energy !!!!
Good for you able to do your own. Thats quite an asset! I think this will become more common for many of us out of necessity. I appreciate you sharing.
I also got Sisterlocks after years of hair breakage and being unsuccessful with my natural hair. Didn’t know about Henna and hair coloring. I currently use Henna and was thinking about getting my hair colored. I’ll do more research first.
Hi Venita! What is causing you to switch from henna to hair color? Are you not getting the color results? How has your hair responded to the henna thus far? How long have you been using it and how long do you leave it on? Please shoot me a text. Info in description. I'm curious. If you do, beware of bleach and harsh chemicals on top of the henna. They will react and create issue down the line.
Hey T! So I went to my consult & going for my test locs at the end of the month, but I was told NOT TO USE HENNA anymore. I've been trying to do research on why, but have been coming up short & I love to research. Is it bc it slowly loosens the curl? She said it's not good for AA hair. I love the color on my sprinke of grays but now i can't even color it which I knew about dye after henna. Just wondering if you have any info on henna vs dye on locs. Thanks!
I’m traveling two hours on Tuesday for my establishment, I’m so excited and ready for this new hair journey!!
I’m the same way … I’m not in no mirror all day … love my Sisterlocks … spritz with water and go
Love this video. Wonderful story teller. You have any pics?

Check out the video that ups today on Henna. We go into some concerns here with Priscilla who has used it for over a decade successfully.
