As a Moroccan who lived half of his life (18 years) in Florida, between Orlando and Miami. Just hearing this music brings back so many great memories, the good latin friends I made along the way, the great food and the beautiful latin culture. They came in 3rd because the home town judges were desperate that year for a Puerto Rican winner. The home town crowd booed, *loudly*, when the results came in because they (we) all knew who the winners should have been. The next year (2005) Albert Torres got ESPN to do a World Salsa Championships in Las Vegas. They won it. They won it again the next year, then 2 years later in Miami. Was this his best dancing? No. Is he an intermediate dancer? Don't be stupid. When I first saw them compete they danced on 1, but a few years later (don't remember when exactly) they switched to on 2. He's a legit salsa dancer.

Watching this is making me think. Holly #### when was the last time I danced. Going from one project to the next and working long ours. In the end for what? I have to get back to working to live, not living to work. It is so easy to get caught up.

I’m Mexican I used to live in Mexico and even then my heart always felt more attracted to salsa and bachata I wish my family would share my taste so I would have learned how to dance this type of music I love my country but other then a few artist only salsa and bachata make me happy and feel alive; and even if I knew how to dance this music I don’t have a dance partner
Hey! you don't need a dancer partner in the beginning.... you can learn on your own... and only then go to workshops and find a partner there... it can even be a different partner each time.... don't let that stop you! did you try any tutorials here on youtube?
I feel you. Mexican-American from Texas who Grew up in Chicago/Humbolt Park from age 9 in a Puerto Rican Neighborhood. Fortunate I started learning salsa dancing at 9 and incorporated Hustle Dancing at 13yrs of age. Can't dance Tejano (for that matter don't even like the music) to save my life. My sisters make fun of me but when I hit the floor Salsa or Hustle dancing they're amazed and proud of me. Amongst my family and their social events it's hard to find salsa dancers and even harder Hustle Dancers. But when I do we take over the floor. My sisters used to tease me every once in awhile when I was younger when I jammed my salsa music. They'd say, "Hey, by the way. Just so you'll know. You're NOT Puerto Rican", lmao.....

Being Puerto Rican and a New Yorker reminds me of some of the dancers at the old Palladium who were "resting" from their routines at Alvin Ailey or the American Ballet. NICE!
I enjoyed them. My fiancé is PR and has no salsa rhythm. And I’m Black/West Indian so my dance is way different. I’m signing us up for classes so we can look fabulous at our wedding June 2020.
I'm Jamaican and our dance moves can be easily manipulated to look like that, maybe it's just my family but we all have a wavy spicy style to our dancing that we intertwine with some "whining" I've been dancing like that since I was 13.

@biomedsci1 ever thought of the rooms they are dancing in may be extremely warm? Besides some people natural sweat more than others.
