Welcome back! Very decent nice stretch of beach, low density, although maybe a bit generic?

Yes, you may have hit the nail on the head. It is a nice piece of property- and when they opened in 2008 I can see how it would have been a great spot to be, but there’s simply too much competition these days to justify their price tag (especially for 2022). That said, I don’t think it would necessarily need a massive renovation to bring it up to the highest of standards- the location and layout is a great start.

I appreciate their honesty in calling the toaster a bread warmer, cos those things rarely output anything toast-like until you've put the bread through about three or four times.

Went to the website of the resort and they are charging over 400 usd for the villa you stayed in!! Yikes, bit pricey for staying in an outdated and tired looking resort. Thanks for reviewing it for us. The beach is stunning and worth just visiting it!

Check out Fusion PQ. They might be charging the same prices as you saw but at least you’ll get free spa treatments out of it! (And they have what I think is the best beach on the island). Another great option is Mango Bay which is surely much cheaper. Thanks for watching!

I don't hate the resort but it's not a "Boutique" Hotel. Wouldn't be to keen on using the open air fitness centre or massage rooms when it's raining. Your picture quality is top notch, thankyou for sharing another great review👍

Love the meticulous attention to detail. Here I was thinking I must be alone in my gripes with rusted patio door tracks.
I find the maintenance of those patio/balcony doors in this particular region of the world to be well below North American resort standards.
I believe you had another video where you stated rust + debris were actively falling off per use.
& another where weather-stripping was used to combat the lack of ability to close all the way.
    Yikes!

I see that you book your hotels through a third party, why not through the hotel directly?

I’ve done the calculations and I find a lot (I mean, a LOT) more value with hotels.com rewards compared with any individual hotel program. Honestly blows my mind how more people don’t talk about hotels.com reward nights. Plus their “gold” hotels give me upgrades at least half of the time. My other major one is AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts- which I think is a bit more clear as to why I use it.
Will possibly be doing a short video about this topic in more detail in the coming months.

I just don’t get the food at ALL- if I’d traveled all the way to Vietnam I’d be pretty disappointed if the only food options were some bland pizza and Caesar salad. You might as well be on the Florida panhandle- there’s really nothing that distinguishing about these places.

Who said the only food options were bland pizza and Caesar salad? Certainly not me. If you’ve traveled to Vietnam before you will know that the “local” food offered at the vast majority of western oriented resorts is 1. Heavily altered for western palates, 2. More or less the same from resort to resort. Because of that, it’s near impossible to judge a food program by ordering spring rolls and a bowl of phở. The best way to get a quick read on the food program of a resort like this is by ordering basic western dishes which will differ drastically from property to property.

@@tfft I haven’t been to Vietnam, so I guess that’s all good to know. If my options are Caesar salads or westernized pho, I can’t imagine why I’d make any of these Vietnamese beach resorts something I’d go out of my way for when I could visit Hanoi and Saigon and go to Koh Samui or Bali for a beach vacation.
