- History beckoned as European gold and glory were on the line in the men's long jump final at Munich 2022.
2020 Olympic Champion Miltiadis Tentoglou set out to defend the long jump crown that he won at Berlin 2018, but there were 11 rivals all looking to take the top spot for themselves.
These are the top three jumps of the competition and they decided the medal positions.

Tentoglou is quite underrated for his achievements. From 2017 to 2022 he is first in all European leagues. (indoor, outdoor, under 20, under 23) Also in indoor he has the fifth best performance in the world and in outdoor have the 16th best perforance and 3rd in Europe. He has exceeded 8.50 twice and this year he jumped most of the times over 8m while most of them are struggling to do 8m this year. and he is only 24.He deserves more attention from athletics fans and media.
the conversation has already started whether he is the best European long jumper of all times or not. if you check those few European athletes that have jumped longer than him, none of them has achieved what Tentoglou has achieved by his 24 years.
@@alexm9148 I think they should be given more attention. to him In Europe they have seen jumps above 8.50 many years. Only Bayer, Emmiyan Tsatoumas Menkov Rutherford and Lamela have done it and all of them have none of his success (expect Rutherford). At the moment in Europe he only fears Ehammer and Montler who in my opinion will hardly beat him unless they have the luck of Wang. I don't want to belittle any athlete I respect their games I'm just sad that such a great athlete goes unnoticed.
@@kristyeleven1426 very well said, I couldn’t agree more! My only objection is that he is noticed. Although, I agree, he deserves even more attention.
On the global stage, he was a bit in the shadow of Echevarria, Gayle, etc., but since last year it's really been all about him
@@onigbajamo I know, and to be fair, Echevarria was a phenomenon, it's a shame that he was lost, but I was mostly talking about Europe, not the world.
Great jump by the Greek jumps across 8.5 meter have become rare.

Tentoglou nearer to the world record (43cm) than the 2nd man was to him (46cm)...
To the English athlete, why was he not told from the beginning that it was invalid and they remembered it as soon as the Frenchman came out of the medals......
Too bad Miltos didn't make that jump at the Worlds and lost for a while but again many congratulations for his race.
I really wonder if it was Ehammer here things would have been different.

Not correct, the Brit was fouled, Montler 2nd, the French 3rd.
The Britty also don't look very EUROpean to me! But why was he fouled like a football/player? Maybe Frenchy Did it!
