This is all speculation: Scar King will break Kong's arm in their first encounter (why Kong has a weird arm brace in the trailer but not when he first meets Scar King). Godzilla will go Red to stand against Shimu but still not be powerful enough on his own. Kong will land a deathblow in his final battle against Scar King, freeing Shimu from mindcontrol and stopping the battle between Shimu and Godzilla. Little Kong will play a baby Yoda role throughout the movie.
I still think according to source Shimu is the first original and powerful titan of all of them. Godzilla is king but Shimu is Father Of All Titan this time Godzilla might get slapped even thou i don't want to.......

After watching GxK i gotta say this still holds up pretty good. I really do think this version of Skar King is better, he has actual powers instead of just a monkey with a whip. The design of Shimo is pretty good too. The thing that really ties this together for me is Godzilla's power up; he really should have been red in the movie instead of pink. 10/10

He's got nifty powers taken from the 1962 Kong but he disappears halfway into the animation and has no personality or charisma, which the actual movie character does possess. In the movie he isn't just a simple bruiser with wacky superpowers like damn near every other single kaiju in history, he's got a tactical and skilled mind and is a complete and utter bastard, thus he stands out in a sea of brutes or generic world destroyers.
I want to believe if Wingard went with this route where the Skar King was like monkey Zeus I think he'd be even more of a threat than a tyrant who forces others to do his dirty work

I really think when scar king will die , shimo will be releaved of his control. Shimo seems necessary for global warmimg and to be fair necessary to godzilla too, he reminds him that without him he'd lost against king ghidorah first time and without mothra probably the second time too
Well, after watching the film I can certainly say that the lightning powers would fit scar king really good. Because despite him beeing the main villian of the film he was pretty weak, and the lightning mode would be perfect buff for him so that he will be atleast as strong as kong with powerglove+axe.
Now we know that Skar king will still be the main antagonist but his strength will come from fear, cunning, and his control over Shimo. We also know Shimo will be white with dark blue crystals instead of black with light blue crystals. We now also know that Shimo will clearly play a large role through most of the film instead of just being a final boss monster like mechagodzilla.
Finally they have a name for the Godzilla x Kong empire and I only saw Godzilla and Kong vs the empire who is called scar king but the other 2 episodes of Godzilla and Kong vs Shimo and even red Godzilla vs Shimo was even more insane
