Was hoping for an explanation of the guitar effects on "Instrumental 2" with the pick scrapes and crazy delay stuff. Elevation's tutorial is fantastic as always, though. Great job, thanks for all you guys do!
Many thanks to you both for clearly explaining the lead and rhythm on every part and the associated effects. Your tasteful use of power chords is very unique! Now I'm prepared to play this beautiful, anointed song this Sunday.
I love this question, because Joey is playing some incredibly cool rhythm guitar. Even though it is 7 years old, I wanted to take some time to highlight what he is doing because it isn't just generic chords at all. Intro/Verses/Turnaround: C, Am, F, C all single notes, not chords. When I watched the music video, Joey Signa does the weird sounds. It's all delays and reverb and I'm not sure if he used an overdrive pedal. The delay pedal that he uses is the Eventide Timefactor
Rudolf Muller My bad, it's not Joey Signa. It's James Duke and he's using the Memory Man by Electro-Harmonix. You don't see him alot in all of the Elevation Worship videos. To be honest, I don't own any Line 6 products and I'm not sure if you can replicate the weird effects on a HD500. Play around with it and see what you can come up with.
The video is helpful but what annoys me so much is when so many churches want you to play just like the recording. You can't play something similar that fits the song. They want everyone in every church to play it the same like we are robots. If that is the case, Just play the track guitar part in the mix. I have been playing guitar for over 20 years with a pedal board that has the strymon delays and reverbs. Let us add some unique things of our own that fits the song.
Nice quality amps help a lot. Also using a more transparent overdrive will give you some grit, without getting too heavy. And pick attack helps to clean it up when you need to.
It’s called a good amp. I have a Bad Cat Black Cat 30r, early built by Mark Sampson, has Matchless branded parts inside. I’ve seen them use the same amp on stage. So, start with a Bad Cat Black Cat, Matchless DC30 or maybe a Jackson Ampworks.
It sounds a little closer to 64th notes. 32nd notes ought to have that "chicka chicka chicka chicka" sound on the picking rhythm. Still sounds good though!
BenEatsGrass No I don’t, my point is always been that if we’re supposed to give the Lord our best this rubbish is not our best. I’m not saying I want to go out and play eruption and jam solos that’s not at all what I meant. Again playing cookie cutter simple crap is not giving the Lord a best
You guys did a great job, you didn’t write the parts. This only goes to show you Christian musicianship is in the crapper. Edge rubbish, this is horrible and I have to learn this for church.
@@tonymarinelli7304 Haa. Probably need to do something else in the Kingdom. If it’s rubbish to you, I’m sure the rest of the Praise Team would rather you serve else where. I never remembered anyone ever saying this music was EVH and Slash all rolled up in a big ‘ole ball 🤔
sort of half a$$ job here guys smh...this song is so amazing, if you wouldve done a better job this video wouldve gone viral, instead it didnt. smh. It shouldve gone viral because this song is so amazing. im so dissapointed.

Great, very helpful. Thanks guys!
This tutorial is great! We play this song a lot at my church and this has helped tremendously with the lead and rhythm! Thanks guys!!
Hey bro, did you download a patch for this song?? & if you did, where can I find it?? I've looked all over! Thanx, Bryan
Thank you so much !!!!

Thank you!
Can you guys do a video focusing exclusively on the chords for Rhythm guitar? I'm having trouble figuring out the chords.
If you want, I can make a video for it. We play it at my church often. Subscribe to my channel. I can work on it Monday.
Chorus is C5 Em F5 G/C F5
that's why they have a separate video that shows the acoustic chords

Am I the only one who thinks Lance is trying not to laugh through the majority of the time he is speaking in this video?
Awesome video guys do you have one made for the bass made? I could possibly be missing it. Thanks!
Create your own if want to play this song!!!!
Wowwwwww
nice job guys! heyyyy, is there a patch for this song somewhere?? I've looked all over! thanx Bryan
They use analog pedal, not digital. So no patches

The James Duke part can be explained only by the James duke
Thanks guys! How do you do the guitar piece that sounds like a looper with weird effects ?
When I watched the music video, Joey Signa does the weird sounds. It's all delays and reverb and I'm not sure if he used an overdrive pedal. The delay pedal that he uses is the Eventide Timefactor
Gene Carrasca Do you know if that ca be replicated on the Line 6 HD500 ?
Or at least what delay it is?
Rudolf Muller My bad, it's not Joey Signa. It's James Duke and he's using the Memory Man by Electro-Harmonix. You don't see him alot in all of the Elevation Worship videos. To be honest, I don't own any Line 6 products and I'm not sure if you can replicate the weird effects on a HD500. Play around with it and see what you can come up with.
He uses the Electro-Harmonix Stereo Memory Man. You can do a similar sound with any delay pedal by turning the delay time while a note rings out
I got my POD HD500 last week and I'll see if I can do it
In the bridge's beginning?
Greatfull for ur totorials ,just if you could say what key is this one ,, im a beguiner,, :)
It's in C
My only query would be: how are your amps set?
Sounds good love it
all good just need to be more discrptive. more details. not so much about the effects but as for chords
Never mind :)
I will love a gear review..... the pedals you are using
What if I'm the only electric guitarist in my church?
In that situation I usually use bits and pieces of each part. For instance, I'll play lead on the verse and then play the rhythm part on the Chorus.
@@jimmytropes2076 Thanks for the reply
Did you do the riffs 2:40

how do they get that.. clear type over drive sound? Like it sounds so.. slinky? lol does anyone get me?

tube amp, compresor and a clean boost

Are those 32nd notes? I know he says they are but I think maybe he misspoke...
It sounds a little closer to 64th notes. 32nd notes ought to have that "chicka chicka chicka chicka" sound on the picking rhythm. Still sounds good though!
Aw snap. You're right! LOL
He also has a 8th note delay on, so it is gonna sound like more notes than what he is actually picking.
what key are you playing in ?
C

If I could play Eruption by Van Halen and Yngwe Malmsteen leads I certainly could play this in my sleep. Christian music so dumbed down it’s sad!!!
I deeply believe you are missing the point of worship by a mile.
