Back here after learning of the recent passing of his VA Brad Venable. Despite having only a minor role in the game, he made Kagami such a memorable and hilarious character. I was always so happy to see our favorite minor inspector throughout the game! May his VA Rest In Peace.
In my playthrough I only asked him his name like once on the mizuki path, and then when I saw him again when he was guarding Pewter Date asked him if his name was Kagami, even though he'd never introduced himself to Date in this timeline. When he asked Date how he knew his name Date said "you've just got a Kagami face"
The reason why Date followed up with "he probably born between 22 june to 22 july" after he think his name is Kaniza, is because "Kani" means "Crab" and the animal symbol of zodiac between 22 June - 22 July is Crab aka Cancer
Yes. The creator of this game and Kodaka are really good friends in real life. There is also multiple references to Danganronpa in this game, one I remember the most is when you bring Mizuki to the park to investigate, early on, she asks if the panda bear in the park is gonna punish her and when questioned, she says ''It's from a video game I like'' or something like that.

I know this is a compilation of the name thing, but one of the absolute funniest dialogues in this game is when they talk about always running into each other and it possibly being the start of something, or even being soulmates in a past life. Fucking amazing when paired with his in-game profile description.

I didn't even know you could get his name wrong in the last chapter in the psync room lmao. My ending was kinda sweet, Date managed to get his name right one last time before the ending.
