Timing is everything. I usually sprinkle some black powder from a fuse that i slice in half on top of the connected fuses. Time consuming but it will guarantee ignition. Great vid 🤘, keep painting the sky!
Well done sir..! I always cut my fuse at a very steep angle to expose more powder following the direction of fire... Glad to see someone using the exsisting shell fuse like you do.
that looks real good John. i was recently was talking to someone about what you just did here for your shells using the shell fuse to time. i will use this vid link for him. you got it all lade out here.
I use two zip ties per fuse when fusing my show, this year was my first year with quick match and I was worried about it lighting consumer fireworks... But it fired everything it was tied onto... You can make quick match but to buy it you need a type 54... Good video
I had a couple of shells the didn't fire although the fuse lit just wen out after a few in. Due to cheep fuse. The shells had more of a yarn type not a heavy lacquer fuse
@@johnwalters have you ever tried a chop saw and just slicing off the base? If you lose a blade width of the bottom tube, that's not bad and you preserve cement plug integrity.
I have. In my case I'm generally hauling racks by hand a fair distance. Consumer tubes are very heavy compared to hdpe so I like to eliminate the base completely and plug the tube if necessary

Thanks! I used to cut or fray the ends of all my fuse I've also not done it all and don't seem to have a fail to fire. It is very good insurance tho.
