Most T1Ds on Facebook >20,000 seem to think that a "unicorn" is when your finger-prick BG reading matches the SG reading on your CGM. They haven't heard that it needs to be "100" as well?
I've been a diabetic for 58 years but on the pump for the last 18 months. I noticed now when I changed my inset it leaves a little mob about the size of a quarter is this common. I haven't checked with Doctor.
I feel ya. I was diagnosed at 27 years old and I felt so alone and lost. It's very hard being diagnosed as an adult. Also scary at first to think how long I went not treating myself for it. Hoping I didnt damage my body to much while I didnt know. But it gets better as time goes on.
I was recently diagnosed at 36 with Type 1 and though I was sent to a great diabetic center I must admit I’ve learned so much more through Danica and others on TH-cam with type 1. My diabetic center offers classes but they are during the day so I haven’t attended... one of this days. If you listen to podcasts look for “Real Life Diabetes”
You mentioned Clare Wineland... so you know she passed like back earlier in the year from a blood clot and stroke after a lung replacement surgery? Very sad.
My friend who was diagnosed with type 1 at age 11 in 1950 just turned 80 years old! 😃

So happy to see your face.
Do you keep your Tandem pump on the same side of the body as the Dexcom G6? Didn't know if that was important.
AY word when Dexcom “Direct to watch is coming out? John
I don't like the clip on the Tandem pump case. Are there other options than the case with the clip?
Your good I hear ya well
Are there any diabetic camps or retreats for a newly diagnosed type 1 adult? We're kinda just given insulin and sent on our way. I'm so lost. 😕
