In Starcraft parlance a "foreigner" is any non-Korean. It's a holdover term from the Starcraft 1 days when there was no high profile professional scene outside Korea.
Can someone explain that epic explosion in that last game for me? I'm a little new to starcraft. Did his widow mines go to shoot the banelings but they do friendly fire aoe and hit the medivacs as well? That's the only thing I can think of o.o
Yeah, Stephano had split off some lings to eat the widow mine shots and one of the mines detonated right underneath the medivacs and since they were so grouped up the splash damage (which was ridiculously OP at the time) was enough to kill all the medivacs.
@ ~ 1:00:20 Staphano knows that from game 1, and now 3, that ForGG's weakness is not being able to defend against very aggressive push at his economy and supportive units (medivacs and tanks, in game 2) and just medivacs in game 1.
+Glailbar Well, the way i see it you are both wrong. 4GG has skill, he wouldn't be in WCS semifinals if he had "bronze league skill". Sometimes players have good days and bad days. Maybe it was a bad day for 4GG and Stephano is one of the best zerg players in the world. Zerg is definitely not "noob race" as you need a lot of tactics to get good surrounds, pincer movements and multi-pronged attacks in order to succeed. You also must be one step ahead in the marco game or else you lose. Banelings are the only zerg unit that does AOE damage and sorely needed against a bio-ball terran. Muta-ling-baneling can only shine in the hands of a pro with mad APM skill otherwise you will lose them all in a good marine-medivac micro. The game is balanced. Ithink that 4GG was simply not very well prepared against a great zerg like Steph.
Can't help laughing looking at both of them, they seem to be from another planet. Just imagine how two guys sitting on chairs may be that ridiculous. I can't focus my sight on either face in the video for more than 5 seconds in a row without chuckling, Even the commentators are aliens: long-faced, strangely-looking men, my gawd..
Ultralisks appear to be utterly useless thus far,i wonder how come experienced professional players even resort to them in the first place..They should either get more armor or deal more damage or both, otherwise their overall efficiency will pale before that of such units as swarm hosts, brood lords and infestors..
ultras are very strong and the most deadly thing in ZvT other than a baneling/roach bust as your marines need 167 shots to kill a single ultra at even upgrades, if it is the usual 2-2- vs 3-5 you will get rekt if you dont have enough marauders. unscouted = dead.
I watch quite a bit and know of the Korean tradition but still it just doesn't really make sense when you have a French and a Korean playing an American game in Germany cast by English. Neither is Murican, neither is Enlgish, neither is German, and the one who is at least European is then the foreigner... oh, the kids of today proving us that Geography is overrated
Actually Koreans have lots of contenders in LoL being very far from being dominating to the point they "own it", and it's changing in SC2 too as well, it would seem. It just happens that Korea has had the longest existing competitive scene in e-sports so they have tradition at their side with the rest of the world playing catch up. Right now, though, I'm more amused at how I can keep this going forever descending ever deeper into meaninglessness
its called globalization and yes geography is very overrated especially EU/NA. the world is getting closer, get used to it. also in this case it was used in a sense of the starcraft scene, wich has its roots in korea. foreign is a known term for non koreans. it has grown that way because of the dominance koreans have in this kind of esport. in LoL koreans own too btw.
мне нравятся эти передачи, они так отличаются искренностью от тех что идут по телеку! Не говоря о том что интересно смотреть! Молодцы
the window mine moment is legendary.
Game starts at 21:35
You sir are a legend
STEPHANO STEPHANO STEPHANO STEPHANO STEPHANO STEPHANO!
In Starcraft parlance a "foreigner" is any non-Korean. It's a holdover term from the Starcraft 1 days when there was no high profile professional scene outside Korea.
Gratz from Poland Stephano! GG
If I'm not watching this live, I do not expect to have 5+ minute breaks... Why not cut those out of the vod? Just a thought...
19 kills in a single hit by a 75/25 unit... and still terran whines about the nerf.
Game 1 starts 20:55
yes you are because in the starcraft scene everyone who is not korean is a foreigner.you obviously dont watch starcraft very often do you?
Can someone explain that epic explosion in that last game for me? I'm a little new to starcraft. Did his widow mines go to shoot the banelings but they do friendly fire aoe and hit the medivacs as well? That's the only thing I can think of o.o
exactly right
Hurray for close observations and balancing logic!
Yeah, Stephano had split off some lings to eat the widow mine shots and one of the mines detonated right underneath the medivacs and since they were so grouped up the splash damage (which was ridiculously OP at the time) was enough to kill all the medivacs.
Are the replays available of this game or any WCS games?
what keyboaard is that from stephano ?
@ ~ 1:00:20
Staphano knows that from game 1, and now 3, that ForGG's weakness is not being able to defend against very aggressive push at his economy and supportive units (medivacs and tanks, in game 2) and just medivacs in game 1.
Anyone can make up what was Stephano's fev tv show?
13:03 White-Ra :)
Wow good eye
1:26:45 for the player reactions to final battle, and 1:33:46 is slow motion zoom in ... pretty hilarious
I'd like to see someone mind control a widow mine.
Oh god those widow mines were such poetic justice.
LOL that widow mine hit. I would have smashed my monitor.
Is stephano going to start playing again in tournaments?
yep
They don't put their production flying in the air typically.
Best commentators ever. (IMO)
golden times of Starcraft :,(
FIRE WORKS.
Am I the only troubled with how British casters from an European competition call a Frenchman "the last foreigner" when his opponent is a Korean?
I think at that moment when my own mines kills my whole army, at such an Turnament, my keyboard would instanty hit the Screen
why do terran players insist on putting their production right in plane view?
i want the replay
das waren noch Zeiten :)
You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off.
3 widow mines won the game. PLOT TWIST they kill everything.
wish there was an mmorpg called stars of starcraft
That was an awesome game. And I normally don't root for Zerg.
1:24:06
it must be the legendary SHETBERD MINES
I wonder if someone can think that banelings aren't OP
1:26:50 with Face-Reaction. Much better.
new epic moment of all time 1:26:47
Grazt widow mine

1:24:00 simply awesome
Ich wäre ja mal für einen starcraft Film :)
that 2nd game.... i hope forGG doesnt think he has skill. That was bronze league level play.
+Glailbar

someone will make a picture compilation of 1:26:48 - 1:27:10 and it will be a big hit in the scene
Its that EGStephano foo!
Stephano speak german... ... i love this guy. :)
***** He come from France, but he speak german I think. :)
Can't help laughing looking at both of them, they seem to be from another planet. Just imagine how two guys sitting on chairs may be that ridiculous. pretty stupid how a 2 base terran can take on a 5 base zerg with superior upgrades.
pretty stupid how if you get too much infrastructure and tech, you'll lose to someone who isn't also going straight macro.
terran was OP at that moment, and for the comments that i am gonne get i siad
"WAS".
Good game Stephano.

1 fungal to get the ultras close and another fungal ti shred 100 army supply...in those 5 seconds they shine

LeninKGB You're right, that's probably the reason they're betting +4 armor with keiser platining in HOTV
stephano only won for the widow mine xD
They do (: 1:26:40 or /watch?v=qpfeqv5YqsY
