Hoosac Tunnel - Flight Footage

This is some footage from a couple flights over the Hoosac range I was lucky enough to be part of. The footage is raw and bumpy, but I added some titles/freeze frames of important scenes along the way.
This is from 2009.

Does the central shaft take are in or doesn't exhaust air out ?
I'm thinking if it exhausts are out the poor people who live right next door to that building must get huge amounts of diesel fumes everyday
I used to live in Mechanicville and would watch the trains leaving to head for the tunnel across the Hudson
And watch the trains come in from Ayer Massachusetts to the Mechanicville yard every day
There must have been 10 trains at least every single day from and to Ayer
Plus all the north-south traffic on the Colonie line

It exhausts air, usually at half-power most times with dampers part closed.
