Been trying to decide between the Makita xdr14 and the Milwaukee M18. Makita feels great. Milwaukee is tied up so tight at our local store I have not been able to hold it to tell.
Leaning towards Makita and it is on sale currently!

get Makita, I bought M 18 brushless than M 18 fuel, those are out of balance , Makita maybe not that strong but you can use it all day without fatigue with Milwaukee after few screws you will feel that something not right. I bought Makita recently and what a diffrence in ergonomics .
Uhh…the screws you’re talking about: one is a regular Philips the other is a Posi-Drive, totally different. You definitely shouldn’t use a Phillips bit on a Posi-Drive as it’ll cam out or strip the head.

Hello, quick question. I just got the xdt13. There is some in and out play of the actual shaft that holds the bits. It's about 1/8 inch. (Not the collet, I know that's supposed to move!!) Is this normal?

Since I no longer have the xdt13 I will refer to my current driver- the xdt14 but I believe they are the same for this matter. If you refer to the in-and-out slack the bit holder has within the driver socket, I believe it is perfectly normal for these impact drivers. Mine has it too. If the actual socket that the bit holder sits in is loose than it's probably a malfunction. Hope it helps.
I know that the XDT14 and XDT16 are close, but I wonder how it would compare to that model
I really don't know. When I buy a tool, I look for the cheapest one that fits my requirements in terms of quality and functionality. The XDT14 was the right fit for me so I looked no further. Sorry mate.
I believe the xdt14 is simply the xdt13 with mode settings. The xdt16 is top of the line (twin of the Japan market 171), with a more powerful motor and a more compact head.

14. הייתה לי 13 והתקדמתי. ל 14 יש בורר דרגות נפרד שליטה בכח/מהירות בנוסף להדק.
השינוי ל 14 בשבילי היה מאד משמעותי - הפסקתי לטחון ביטים.
Where do you get the bit holder?
Weirdly it came with my Makita hammer drill and it fits where the hook is supposed to be. I don't remember the exact drill model. I can check it if you'd like.
@@0nePerson I wonder if it's an accessory that you can order... Or if they just come with certain drills. Like yours. Maybe it has a part number that I can look up. Cause I just picked up the xdt14 for $105 with a free 2ah battery for doing precise work, pocket holes, cabinet hinges, and whatnot. Yes please, thank you in advance!
