As far as WS go yes this was painfully boring but as a Giants fan i couldn't ask for anything else. 2014 was way more entertaining in retrospect but it was stressful to watch at the time

ERA 4.15, 20 HR given up, WHIP 1.34. 2012 stats: ERA 4.15, 20 HR given up, WHIP 1.39. So almost exactly the same. But Zito's run support in 2010 was 3.55, 12th worst in the league. In 2012, it was 4.69. He wasn't better in 2012, he only seemed better because the offense was better. That made all the difference between his record of 9-14 and 15-8 in those years. I guess W/L records really do matter for pitchers.
