Keep in mind, for that price it very likely isn't a brand new HDD, probably a refurbished HDD (usually goes for ~40$ USD on ebay) or at leased used :). AKA the seller is likely making money on it (in reference to you mentioning its basically the same price as the HDD itself). Probably 50% profit it seems like to me, even more if the HDD is on its last legs (lots of relocated bad sectors, etc).
Question, can you play the Emu plug & play on PS3? I'm assuming you could but IDK... I'm still tryin to emulate my older Dell PC and my PS3, no luck I've tried Hen I've tried everything. 😂 😆 I figure this is probably a route since I keep striking out!! I know I'm probably doing something wrong but I've followed the videos. One thing I noticed you did here was the USB port has to be on a specific driver? If so we've found the culprit 😂
In this video it goes over the 12tb there is a game list and system list link in the description of the video th-cam.com/video/qyDxLx1Bqkc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UXPWGiFXWb_VbUuB
The other factor is HD life.....good this was a branded drive but there are a lot of unbranded drives. Spinning HD drives can have shorter life spans like 2 to 3 yrs so factor that in or backup at least the roms.
Having a branded drive is no guarantee , I had a WD external drive die in like 2 months. But backups are definitely a good suggestion, especially the roms, you can always download the emulators again and just rebuild, but roms are another matter.
A lot of these old games can be played on online browsers for free. I dont get why Nintendo is the only company that goes after emulation and rom sites.
If you pull up the 12 TB drive on Alibaba, the first thing that plays is a video of a guy showing how to disable real-time protection in Windows Defender. On a sketch drive, from China, full of pirated software. Yeah.
is their a place i can buy TB drive that just has pinball, bally ones like kiss, and others, the ones on my hysperspin dont work, i think those have been updated. recently., it was under future pinball
imo. I don't know why they put any disc systems in the cheaper builds especially 3DO. I had the worst time trying to get 3D0 to not crash. I wouldn't mind seeing a disc system only build. PC games shouldn't be included.
Agree. But pros and cons 1. Has to be an old used hdd 2. Viruses.... we have no clue where all these games came from or where downloaded from... I have a decent library downloaded from 2 sites w no viruses at all.. just going to buy ssd or nvme and add games to it from trusted sources
Would love to see a “how to” set up of this drive in a cabinet with joystick etc.

There are some emulators that give false positive but if your concerned use a non primary computer with no internet

Don't see too many batocera built into 3 - 12 tb drive 😕
How many trojans / viruses / coin miners does that get you?
Say Alibaba 3 times and you get Genie..
lol
PS SEGA is pronounced Sayga, not Segga!

The space alone is worth $60 for 3tb
