YJL does a really good job with the cast and material quality. Currently building the Hi Nu and that thing is a beast. You'll have fun with the conversion kit.

Yeah, been fun thus far. The cast is really good, although I have found some air bubble cavities in inconvenient places, and I really wish they had cast parts like the eyes and cameras in clear for LEDs, but still the best quality I’ve seen in a resin kit.

Bandai wants them to buy licenses before launching their products I guess... meaning Bandai wants the third parties to pay money to the licenser(Bandai)...

Yeah, I get that, but it’s a bit of a grey area. It’s technically like an accessory for their kit, not unlike 3rd party water slides, metal parts, etc... but where it gets gray is likeness, still probably different enough. It’s like when aftermarket companies make different body components for cars. Seibon can make a carbon fiber hood for a Subaru and Subaru doesn’t give a F because it’s for a car you already bought the car from them, and strengthens their community.
I’m sure Bandai expects money from them, but it’s obvious that they are realizing why the third party gunpla market is so big and incorporating those facets into their new designs, i.e. the pg unleashed. Competition(regardless of technical legalities) drives innovation.

Have you started building it yet I’m about to buy it but I was wondering how well the resin fit onto the original Gundam or did it take a lot of extra prepping

I am in the midst of prepping parts right now, it is quite a bit of work just washing parts properly and just going through and fixing little imperfections. I’ll probably be up to a test build within the next few days but I know these official kits usually have great fitment.
